MP3 Player

CAGiversary!
So I think I may have made a mistake with my latest mp3 player pick up.

I picked up a 2 gig flash-size drive for $24 from fry's. It had a display screen so I mistakenly assumed the name of the track would be displayed on the little 1.5 inch display.

All that shows up on the display is just the time and the volume settings.

Can anyone recommend a cheap tiny (flash drive, fit in your pocket) size mp3 player that's 2 gig size or more?

Thnaks.

Mach Trio 2GB!!! I own the 512MB version and it is awesome, it is small, compact, light and tough, I mean mine has been dropped, kicked, soaked in liquid and all sorts of others things and it still runs just fine. You should be able to find this one at buy.com for like 50 bones but remeber you can get 10 dollars off the price with the google checkout deal and then another 10 percent off if you enter this code in google checkout: gco10

But does it display the full title of the song (or at least the mp3 title) in the display window? I listen to alot of jazz and and knowing what the song is (if not who's playing) is very important to me.

No, definately do not want a Ipod Nano. I don't want to mess with apple's drm restrictions. And notice I said I -cheap- mp3 player? Something under $150....

I just bought a 2 gig one at fry's for $25.
sears has the sandisk sansa c250 for $80 on sale. microSD, images, etc
I have the 1gb version,it upgrades to 2gb, with micro sd card, I mostly use it for podacasts when I AM at work.Although I have like 3 complete albums always on it, it is a great buy, regardless of what reviews u read, I completely recommend it!And believe me, a 1gb internal memory is a lot, and the display is really great, displays all the info you might need.

Just to add to your growing recommendation list. Tried to find those under $100 that have the things you want. I don't know generic brands, so it's hard to come close to your 2GB for $24.

SanDisk Sansa Express, $60 (1GB internal, upgradeable to 2GB)
SanDisk Sansa M250, $60
Creative MuVo V100, $70
Creative Zen Stone Plus, $70
Creative Zen V Plus, $75
SanDisk Sansa E250, $95

All have a screen that can show track titles and 2GB, except the Express. For reviews or more recommendations, you can look at http://anythingbutipod.com, if you haven't already.

Oh, to add on to Kendro's post.. I bought one of those nifty little Sony mp3 players at TRU for 30 (however it was 1 gig.. if that'd be sufficent for you). I like it a lot.. the display is pretty cool :)

Thanks. I think I'll pick one of those up. Question is now, what to do with the $25 2 gig one I bought from fry's.
Ebay it?

the only DRM restrictions are on music bought through the itunes store (and some of that is DRM free). Others it plays mp3s and AAC.

You can get a refurb 2GB ipod Nano for $99 at the apple store.

The Muvo is $40 at buy.com the Zen V plus is $60 both with free shipping. I would avoid the Stone. The screen is TINY.

I found (and won) a creative zen black for $55 on ebay. I think that's what I'll end up going with. Thanks for the help though.
