MPEG card for old Playstation models

I was looking for old games in my closet and found these two MPEG card for Ps1. One came with action replay (2 in 1 function) and the other one came with just that (the MPEG card alone). these devices can be plugged in behind the old ps1 machines that has "parallel" port (scph 1001- scph 5XXX. They do not work on later ps1 machine as these machine dont have parallel port anymore).

ASUS (850mhz P3, 128 MB ram, 40 gigs of hd, 8 mb agp video- backlight has problem).

now would be the time to tell us what the hell they do...........
 
just and fyi, it works on the 7xxx models of the psx as well. they removed the port on the 9xxx models.

to the above poster, it plugs into the back of your psx and lets you play vcd's on your psx. it also lets you play backups as a little bonus. i had one, and i can say that it's a pretty sweet deal.
 
I have two cards, one came with gameshark-like function, and one came with just the MPEG function. The one with gameshark function is 30 shipped, with expressmail and delivery confirmation, the one without is 20 shipped
 
The control of the movie can be done using the controller. say start button for play, and select button fro stop, R1L1 for chapter skip and R2 L2 for scanning.
 
Where u at? Expressmail = usps express. I dunno if it play backup or not. BEcause my old psone (scph 1001) was permodded to begin with. My friend says it does, but I have never tested it. Correction: the cheat function is acompatible with Action replay codes (not gameshark).

Backlight problem: SOmetimes the backlight might die out.
