MSN list of the 10 worst video games of all time
Typing of the Dead is one of their runner-ups??? Are they out of their minds?
Came here to say the same thing.

Typing of the Dead is the best possible way to learn how to type. With zombies.

Don't agree with them putting prince of persia in there. And those home brew games at #2 shouldn't really count as they are basically fan made games.

I respect them for trying to take a fresh approach...too many "worst/best games ever" lists are just repetitions of what we've been reading for a decade or more, with a few new titles thrown in.

That having been said, they sure didn't dig deep to look for shitty games if this is the best they can do. What slack-asses.

Prince of Persia? wtf is up with this guy. he must not play many games...

and seriously, typing of the dead as a runner up? that is one of the funnest games ive played on the dc/pc, its the best way to type!

If I recall, don't many consider Warrior Within the best of the new PoP titles? Or atleast better than the Two Thrones? And I know Daikatana was a major let-down and pretty bad, but it doesn't compare to say, Barney's Hide and Seek for the Genesis.

People, people, calm down... it's article with a targeted audience of menapausal women who are bored at work and surfing the net (probably taking a break from looking at Overstock.com).

As for Typing of the Dead... I think it was extremely innovative. I actually know a couple of people that learned to type from that game.

As for whoever said Superman 64, you must not have played the game shitfaced. Seriously.. try it. Superman starts flying in the direction you want him to. It works out!

I think they based this list on 2 important criteria: Jack, and Shit.

Yeah, POP: Warrior Within makes sense in the top 10 worst games of all time. Certainly over the likes of Drake of the 99 Dragons, or Superman 64, or Largo Winch, or the Zelda games for the CD-i, or like 90,000 other games. I mean, how the hell do they justify putting a game on this list that received 84% out of 100% from 60 different media outlets on gamerankings.com?

ET, big shocker. Custer's Revenge.. wow I guess they read that issue of EGM where they bashed on that one too. I'll give them Make My Video with Marky Mark - it's little known and B-A-D.

They can take their generic credibility and shove it.

Well logically all games that never leaves the meeting room is the worst games. Again logically all games is good and enjoyable since they produced in the first place.

To answer the orginal question I would have to say the worst thing I have ever brought at top dollar and did not enjoy was P.N.03. It was $40 brand new and there was no blood in sight just a a futuristic space in space and all that was left is space.

It's almost like the game had one person behind it's entire production and everybody else left the building while CAPCOM said release it now or cancel the project.

I mean they could have made this entire game a 13 level demo or just a pure training room demo and bring out Dead Pheonix instead but somehow they decided to realease the game.

Yes the game has ton of gameplay and replay value for a speed runner player but it still retains the tank movement of the entire RE series along with the repetitive of Koopa Kastle ?-8.

then there is

1. Most of Any simulator including sports and war

2. Any commercial game like Aliens or Batman

3. Bloody games where it is a all out monster demon fest.

5. Virtual pets of any sort including pokemon or tamigotchi

6. Spin off games. I mean lets just stick with the original series and not confuse people

7. Remakes. I dont care if the game is a 1 bit wonder. depends on games like
Biohazard and Skies of Arcadia.

8. Any online game that you can't play offline. LOL on the X-Box PSO

9. hand me downs mulit ports. Games that should stay on one console and will save that console from doom. Instead they should make diffrent games to
extend the series like Rocket Knights and Saprkster did.

10. Fanmade games that just bore me to death. I mean come on make the game good or don't make it at all. I want something enjoyable anot another script from the days of our lives.
....yea.

I feel like the guy in your sig every time I read one of your posts.
I thought he was banned... the mods tease :(

This is just classic... I don't even know what it means!

daikatana f u c k i n g sucked ass...worst case of metaphorical blue balls from the hype over a game ever.

T. Foolery

If they thought Warrior Within was bad enough to make that list they obviously overlooked the "gem" that is Prince of Persia on the Dreamcast.

Maybe there's a reason everyone collectively erased that one from their memories.

QFfuckingT

Dumb list overall.

Hmm MSN's list of worst games and no Xbox exclusive games to be found. Where's Bruce Lee, Kabuki Warriors, and Drake of the 99 Dragons.

I actually agree with the points made against PoPWW. Sure it was a good game but Ubisoft basically ditched the whole style of the series in order to make it cooler. Not only that, but the game was glitchy as hell. Normally, even the most glitch prone games have problems that are rare but it was easy to come by in PoPWW.

Yes I agree with all the points they made about the game, I hated the "extreme" direction they took and the obvious selling out. But it still doesn't make it a worst game contender, not even close. For all its faults in art direction it was still a decent game, and the combat was much better than the original. With so many broken games out there, Prince of Persia shouldn't even be considered.

They should have included the big rig game where the opponent never left the starting line.

Any worst video games list that doesn't have Spec Ops mentioned somewhere in it (whether on the list formally or in the honorable mentions) isn't accurate at all.

And Warrior Within? Sure, it may have been a let-down considered the game it followed, but it's nowhere near the top 10 worst ever. Not even close.
Typing of the Dead is one of their runner-ups??? Are they out of their minds?
Ditto. That's nuts.

I agree too that amateur games shouldn't be on there. I also really doubt most of those games deserve to be on a "worst of" list. And I also doubt the Atari 2600 port of Pac Man was the "worst port ever". At least it looked and played more or less right. (Scary that the 2600 originally had trouble running PAC MAN!)
Smurf Rescue?! Are You Freaking Kidding Me!?!?
If memory serves, that was the very FIRST side-scrolling platormer, yet it gets crapped on? Harsh.

I'm also opposed to PoP:WW making the list. I don't play games for "attitude," so that didn't bug me in the least.

Looking at the runners-up, it's obvious A) how limited the dude's gaming scope is, or B) how limited the scope of the intended audience was. I mean, even his own description of Typing of the Dead reminds me how awesome it is!
And I also doubt the Atari 2600 port of Pac Man was the "worst port ever".
No...The article got that right. I played that version of Pacman when I was a kid and yes....it is hands down the worst port ever.

BEST. LIST. EVER!

.....or not. I'd say POP belongs on the "extremely overrated list" rather than the crappy one.
And those home brew games at #2 shouldn't really count as they are basically fan made games.
Agreed, The Columbine Massacre game is extremely distasteful but the article just gave it free advertising.

And the fact that they reviewed the game, means they played it, right?

I think you got that backwards: the generally accepted view is that Two Thrones is better than Warrior Within, though neither is as good as Sands of Time.
We should do a mass email campaign to MSN urging them to remove fuck from their list
Or at least add an addendum talking about its cult following on video-game forums. :)

Hell to the no. Sands of Time was one of the best games of all time and that made Warrior Within even worse in comparison. They took everything that was good about the art style and the mood of the first and perverted it for all the damn emo and goth kids that buy games these days.

Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure should definitely be number one on a top ten worst game list somewhere.

#9 is soooo out of place. Yes PoP: WW is still regarded as the black sheep in the PoP Trilogy, but it's far from a bad game, let alone one of the worse ever.

Otherwise, the list is sort of accurate.
