i searched and couldnt find anything, ive read the manual to no avail.

how in the heck do i get additional players to be able to control their characters in battles?
they can make selections on the menus but cant do anythign during battles.

anybody? anybody?

Under the tech menu, if you select manual, then they will be controlled by other people. However, the controller has to be plugged into the port of the guy you want to control, and the camera always seems to be based around lloyd

Pretty much what he said. Go to each character's tech menu, change from "Auto" to "Manual." Then it should work. However, the camera will always follow around player 1. You can either stay with that or change it so the camera won't move (forgot how to do this). This will make the characters hard to see though.

I don't think they design this game with multiplayer in mind. It seems more like they just decide to add the function in after they done designing the game.

To play ToS in multiplayer (in case anyone was confused and still cares)...

- Plug in controllers.
- Go to "Tech" menu of respective players. At the top, switch to "manual."
- Optionally: go to Options menu and disable cameral lock onto main character.

... and you should be good. Although ToS is a 1-player game, it's cool to have a 2nd player along for stretches, especially against bosses.
