my 360 isnt working...HELP

hey everyone
i was playing some hexic hd and then the screen said to reconnect my controller. i tried reconnecting it but it didnt work. i tried replacing the batteries on my controller but that wasnt it either. i turned off the console and let it sit for a while before turning it back on. now i noticed that the ring of light does not light up nor does the power icon light up green. the controller still does not work. any help would be much appreciated.
 
Try pressing the small round button on the top of the controller when the 360 is on .
I think it finds a new channel for the controller .

i tried that when i tried to reconnect the controller to the system. the controller will start searching for the system but when i press the button on the system, nothing happens and the ring of light and power button are still off.
 
Is it a wireless controller ?
Is the 360 on when you press the button ?
It may take a while , I had to do it once and it seemed to almost take too long to work .
 
when i press the button on the console to find a controller, nothing happens because the ring of light isnt working. the gamercard is wrong probably becauase it froze during hexic so it didnt update the card to say i played hexic last.
 
Call Microsoft. No one here will be able to help you (as evidenced by the sheer number of people who have had to send in their broken 360s to Microsoft as well.)
 
Best bet is just to call them up. Sounds like your system isn't even powering up at all. What's your build date on the back of the system btw?
 
I had tons of trouble getting my wirless controller to lock onto my replacement 360. Even after I found the step by step directions. On the last try I pushed the button on the controller as hard as I could and if finally caught it.

If you are having problems with it powering up, I am sure that you have tried this, but it bears mentioning: Unplug the power supply from the back of your 360, and plug it back in.
 
just an update, i called customer service and they didnt know what the problem was so im just gonna take it back to costco and get a new one.

Or try to plug it in to a different place
