my bias and uncorrect essay i did for school...
Everyone, don't be so hard on the guy. Many of us who have posted on the internet for a while probably have decent English skills. Many of those who don't spend a lot of time may not get much practice writing.
Wow. You've got to the only person I've ever met (and I work with English professors 3 days a week) that has ever equated that more time on the internet can benefit writing skills. Considering the practice of short hand and incorrect grammar use is generally accepted on internet forums, you have no legs to stand on. It benefits typing skills, yes, but one does not magically gain a firmer grasp of the English language because one spends days on internet forums

I use to be a terrible writer (my writing still sucks, but not as bad), but I got better as I started typing more often. Maybe the OP is better at math, science, or something else?

Let's assume that for just a second.

Okay, I'll shine some light on why that assumption is incorrect. To write a proper Compare and Contrast essay, the OP would have to do some research. Basic research mind you, but research none the less. As someone who came and graudated from the Louisiana school system, I can tell you that you learn these skills in both science and english classes in this state. We'd have to assume that both his English and science teachers failed him in that regard. He doesn't even get biased facts correct. Which, as I stated earlier, unless he comes from Mamou Louisiana, he has no excuse.

I was one of the top math students but did terrible in English. Didn't mean my school system was crap due to my English level, since my school system was one of the best in the state.

The OP tried to blame his horrific writing on his education background. No one else did.

I never typed emails, forum posts, and so on. There's no denying my writing was pretty bad because I rarely wrote. As I got on the internet and got more examples of writing (along with doing much, much more writing compared to before), I actually improved. If you don't think the internet has contributed to this, then explain why my English paper grades were terrible in my early H.S. years, but really good in my later H.S. years and college?

Most of us are not making fun of the kid but are making fun of/are terrified of the educational system that has produced an essay like this for a class he is getting a 101% in. This wouldn't have gotten me a good grade in junior high, let alone high school. Basic communication skills are important.

I disagree on two points:
Everyone, don't be so hard on the guy. Many of us who have posted on the internet for a while probably have decent English skills. All of recorded history has shown us that being on the internet destroys the English language. Someone without a firm grasp of grammar and spelling ONLY gets worse as a result of posting on forums, IMing, and texting. You don't go from "omg I are leet hax0rs" to "Hey, I can form a coherent sentence." It's the other way around.
Maybe the OP is better at math, science, or something else? I was one of the top math students but did terrible in English. Didn't mean my school system was crap due to my English level, since my school system was one of the best in the state.
That would be fine, if it were the case. But I assume since you were not good at English, you didn't get good grades in English. What we have seen here is indicative of what is expected in order to earn a grade HIGHER THAN 100%. There is no way to make that reflect well on the school system. It is shit, plain and simple.

I wasn't in the greatest school system in the world, but I had to write longer, more thoughtful, and more detailed essays in 9th grade--IN CLASS. As in, "Here's a topic, you have 40 minutes to write a 5-paragraph essay. Get out your pencil." I wound up with a B, and I AM quite a good writer (mom's an English teacher, I've gotten perfect scores on every single paper I've written in college except one, and even had one professor ask if she could use one paper as an example of what she's looking for).

you need to put down the controller and pick up a few books. seriously...

given a topic that you obviously are passionate about and THAT is all that you could come up with? I understand that this may be for extra credit, but as the saying goes... Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
I'm willing to bet ManaKnight is only saying these things because the OP likes the PS3.

I think the OP likes the PS3 beacuse it's hard to spell that incorrectly. Or uncorrectly. Much harder than counting to 360.

Or "harderer," as might be required here.
Its hard to spell Wii uncorrectly as well Strell.
no i know th format was messed up i copy and pasted in and it got screwed up... and i am in 11th .. also i don't care because i have a 10% in this class and this was for bonus

also no one really bothers me with their comment because this is the internet... if this were real life people who i see everyday i would make shure they don't say crap to me.....

Sadly enough, I believe that he actually is that high in his class. My sister does worse work then him, yet she also gets As. I seem to recall an essay from her that was two paragraphs, triple spaced, random capitalizations, no supports, no proofs, and one paragraph being a complete run on. What was her score on the essay? 98%. One of her pages was just a picture on top of that.

Give some credit where credit is due. You forgot Bush and Clinton. They did their fair sure of screwing us too.
you're doing a great job, keep up the good work. Funny though, you supposedly have a learning disablity yet you were able to figure out that the PS3 is a better system than the 360. People who're on their 3rd and 4th malfunctioning 360 claim that the 360 is better than the PS3. and they pay for services PS3 owners get for free... and some of them, are still buying HD DVDs...
Or you can say, "Only retards buy PS3's over 360's."

What clinton did was his own god damn busi.... oh you meant on education.;)

You act like everyone in high school is retarded.

Some students are taking buttloads of AP and honors classes in order to get into credible colleges. It isn't our fault that some kids don't care as much as we do, but can you really blame them? Kids these days need a cell phone and iPod on hand at all times, and insist upon one of these devices blaring music into their ear at all times. It is no wonder that some kids can't comprehend a damn thing when they can't hear anything adults are trying to relay to them.

Combine that with video games, computer use (i.e. Myspace, Facebook) and texting and they are all out of time to think about anything as "frivolous" as school.

Judging from most high school aged kids i run into, i assumed they were. Hell, half the people here at college i run into are idiots.

Not to mention current role models on TV on in the media.
First of all i don't even know why on earth Kids look at TV stars for role models but apparently they do.
And with the likes of Paris Hiton, most new rappers, and such.
Myspace and youtube blog vids started out like a good idea but now its more like an viral infection for the morons.

Even good schools that do a good job with teaching can't help it if kids are making other stupid choices along with their studies.

I don't know, I'm only 21 y/o but i still get frighten thinking about the coming generation.
Judging from most high school aged kids i run into, i assumed they were.
You're out of the CAS, Jake.

Yes. Some are even obsessed #-o:

But in the case above, I don't know what's worse - the whiny lil Myspace-obsessed bitch or his older dickhole of a brother & friends picking on him. It could go either way.

If English is a third language you are working on, it was a nice try.
If English is your second language, you could use a little work.
If English is your first language...I hope some kind teacher catches your mistakes and has a good, long talk about how to write a proper essay with good spelling and grammar.

Watch Idiocracy.
You're out of the CAS, Jake.
 So long as you don't ask me something like "Where does my file go when i save it," you're exempt.
I stopped reading at "uncorrect."
I stopped when he referred to "my bias essay."
I always lol when people don't realize a joke topic...
This is consistent with what I saw in my high school, and the rest of his posts sure as hell don't make this look like a joke topic.

I could really go for a Starbucks right about now.
 So long as you don't ask me something like "Where does my file go when i save it," you're exempt.
I have juniors and seniors in college asking me that all the time. Sadly enough I also have speech outlines handed in in paragraph form that make the op's essay look good. It's just ridiculous.

This is the only example I need to prove that the education system needs to be completely redone.
Fixed.

Thanks for the break from my math homework! I didn't check any of the facts really, just took a look at the spelling and grammar.
Don't forget that any number under 100 has to be written out in words, not numeric form.
I teach 11th grade English and... *shudder* That was just... awful. Just plain awful.
Your students must need therapy after you've graded their papers...

Ha, I saw papers like that 8 years ago. My girlfriend at that time taught 11th grade English. I helped her at times grading the papers. Course this was in Central Phoenix so it was more of a minority/inner city school. It all depends on the school and location. Everyone knows Arizona has one of the lowest rated school systems in the country yet Phoenix is the fifth largest city.
Why hasn't anyone brought up Bill Cosby yet and his rap music speech?
THE KIDS, THEY LISTEN TO THE RAP.
THAT GIVES THEM THE BRAIN DAMAGE. You see? With their hipping and the hoppin and the bipping and the boppin and they don't know what the jazz is all about?

YA SEE?

What do you like to play? Pokemon!
Wow, to think i'm 2 years below you...
No, actually that is quite believable, if not expected.
