Everyone, don't be so hard on the guy. Many of us who have posted on the internet for a while probably have decent English skills. Many of those who don't spend a lot of time may not get much practice writing.
Wow. You've got to the only person I've ever met (and I work with English professors 3 days a week) that has ever equated that more time on the internet can benefit writing skills. Considering the practice of short hand and incorrect grammar use is generally accepted on internet forums, you have no legs to stand on. It benefits typing skills, yes, but one does not magically gain a firmer grasp of the English language because one spends days on internet forums
Let's assume that for just a second.
Okay, I'll shine some light on why that assumption is incorrect. To write a proper Compare and Contrast essay, the OP would have to do some research. Basic research mind you, but research none the less. As someone who came and graudated from the Louisiana school system, I can tell you that you learn these skills in both science and english classes in this state. We'd have to assume that both his English and science teachers failed him in that regard. He doesn't even get biased facts correct. Which, as I stated earlier, unless he comes from Mamou Louisiana, he has no excuse.
The OP tried to blame his horrific writing on his education background. No one else did.

I use to be a terrible writer (my writing still sucks, but not as bad), but I got better as I started typing more often. Maybe the OP is better at math, science, or something else?

I was one of the top math students but did terrible in English. Didn't mean my school system was crap due to my English level, since my school system was one of the best in the state.
