Big deal, that's the way the world works. Farmer Jack doesn't stock my favorite brand of beer. It's not a denial of my rights because they don't choose to buy from a particular manufacturer or distributor. It's called freedom of choice. They can choose to deal or not to deal with whomever they want. Don't retail stores have the same rights as you do when they decide to buy something or not? Yes they do.
Exactly. Games get canceled all the time and no one pulls the C word out of their ass. If the government was trying to prevent the publication of this game, that would be one thing, but this is a private organization (the ESRB), two game companies, and a series of retailers making decisions that are well within their rights. The only reason a vocal group of people are getting huffy and crying censorship now is because they were really looking forward to being able to act out their depraved homicidal urges in a commercially sanctioned way. Now they can't. Wah.
And those of you saying the M and AO rating should be combined, come on now. Yes, it's kind of silly that there's only a year of age difference between the two, but there's also a pretty significant content difference. For example, many 18+ adults might enjoy a film with R-rated sex scenes or violence in the context of the movie. But it doesn't follow that because they're 18+ they will also automatically want to see an NC-17 film or XXX porn.
I do, however, strongly agree that the U.S. is backwards in it's permissiveness of violence over sex. Gun down 100 innocent people? Great! Run over some nuns? No problem! Ice pick in the eyeball? Bring it on! Show a naked human body? GOD NO, THE CHILDREN!!!!!
The Discovery Channel had a show on childbirth on the other night and it actually showed the women's breasts and vaginas in the context of the subject matter. I wanted to stand up and cheer (though I imagine my wife might have gotten the wrong idea

).
