My first post... Hello everyone.

In short: I got a free God of War game from Sony Computer Entertainment America because of a faulty replacement PS2.

A while ago I was testing/cleaning some PS2 games my cousins gave me. Most of the games they gave me looked as if they were used as a tissue, so I had to clean a lot of them. Anyway I guess I didn't dry one game well enough because after testing that game, the PS2(slim) didn't play any games anymore. It played DVDs however. So I called SCEA and I paid $45 for the exchange of my system with a working one. I shipped it out for something under $15 and patiently waited for my package. It came, the game that broke the first PS2 worked, and all was good. Then (2 weeks later) I tried playing other games in my collection and I found they do not work. So I called SCEA and reported the problem. I'm still under the 90 day warranty so I don't have to pay a dime. Except for shipping. I was upset about that so I complained for about an hour and talked with Dale the team manager. We danced in circles about the policy and eventually Dale went to reread the policy. He came back and found out they have a promotional policy which allows them to give promo games away without me having to ship them the system. I agreed to that and he read off a fairly long list of games. I chose God of War, and today I received my Greatest Hits version of God of War. Fortunately that game works on my PS2.

I feel like a brat having complain as long as I did about shipping. Except, I just want my PS2 to work properly. I don't want to pay more money for that. i didn't drop it, or do anything that would cause it harm since I've gotten it. So I felt it wasn't fair to pay for shipping again.

I still haven't shipped the semi broken PS2 out yet. I should now that I have a little money.

LOL Hey, technically, he only paid $40 because the game itself is valued around $20. However, one should never put a game into a system without checking to see if it's gunked up with crap or wet or otherwise may cause problems. This would've saved you the initial $60 and you would've never had to deal with Dale.
