It's a beta invite...
True, but as I understand, beta selection for participation is quite sparse.

Edit: This invite unlocks the beta via Steam, and is available for immediately download/play.
Who cares? No one is going to pay $50 to be in a beta
You speak/type for everyone?

Capitalist society here. If you think people don't pay, sometimes exorbitant amounts of $, to play in private betas such as this, then you're a fool.

If you want to merely comment on this thread, head over to the Off Topic forum and go nuts.

Good luck with that.

I guess I'll rephrase myself. I hope you are ready to send the code first if you find an established member willing to pay way too much for a beta invite. You have no feedback so keep in mind no smart person is going to send you money before they get the code. Assuming a smart person would pay your ridiculous asking price.

Based on my initial research, $50 appears to be the average asking price, but if you contemplate...can you put a definitive price tag on something like this?

$50 firm or trade for Skyrim, for anyone who's interested.

At the risk of being "that guy", you might want to look at CAG's trading policy on betas. - Link. In particular...

* Betas for games. Most TOS's/EULA's for the beta say that the beta discs can't be sold/given away, during the beta or after the beta has expired. Depends on the terms of the EULA/TOS for the beta, though if planning to sell/trade them on CAG, please provide a copy of the EULA/TOS that explains thet can be sold. Without that proof, betas can't be sold.

Good to know. I can't recall the EULA/TOS for this beta, but it probably does not have a clause for selling the invitation. As such, I'll edit the OP. I looked around for some rules relating to this type of commerce here, and did not find this.
