N64 games worth getting?

adamada

CAGiversary!
I'll be picking up an N64 on Friday from EBGames (for $15, how can I NOT?). Anyway, I was wondering what everyone thinks are good games to get for the system. MarioKart is a must, and Paper Mario is on the list to get. My question to you is: what N64 games do you play most often?
Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

Other than the 2 you listed, I still play through Mario 64 every now and then (even though I've gotten 120 stars MANY times). Others I play:

Goldeneye
Pokemon Snap (sounds gay, but I love this game)
LoZ:OoT
Mario Party (the 1st one rocks)
Mario Tennis
Quest 64 (everyone else hates it though)

Mario Kart and Paper Mario are expensive.
Goldeneye
Pokemon Snap
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Mario Tennis
Mario Golf
1080 Snowboarding
Pokemon Puzzle League
THPS
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Perfect Dark

(A couple may need expansion pack)
Ogre Battle should keep you busy for awhile
Sure, if you can find it.

add:

Wave Race
Pilot Wings
Blast Corps
Banjo Kazooie
Banjo Tooie

Definitely Ocarina of Time, not so much Majora's Mask (although if you have a Cube, just get one of the demo discs).

Edit: Rogue Squadron, Battle for Naboo, and even Shadows of the Empire wouldn't be bad to pick up cheap, especially if you are a Star Wars fan.

Edit: Yeah, Mischief Makers was a lot of fun. I played the Japanese version, because I could get it a lot cheaper at the time (or the US version wasn't out yet, I don't remember which). Fond memories.

o and perfect dark and legend of zelda majoras mask and orcarina of time and super mario 64 and yoshi story

How about Smash Bros.? That's one I've been watching for, does it hold up?

Not sure that Perfect Dark really holds up today, the game is just so ugly compared to a modern FPS. Goldeneye is probably nice to get just because it was a system seller. I loved it back in the day, but not sure if it would even hold up today.

Come on, somebody else has to like Blast Corps. I had so much fun with that one while waiting for other games to be released. If they brought that to the DS, I'd buy it in a heartbeat (and yes, I know it won't happen since Rare has been assimilated).

Jet Force Gemini was a great game. The graphics left a little to be desired, but the gameplay was great.

I'd agree with pretty much all of the games previously mentioned, and I'd also recommend:
Beetle Adventure Racing
F-1 World Grand Prix
F-Zero X
Space Station Silicon Valley

They're all excellent, excellent games.

Blast Corps is godly, my friend.

No one appreciates that game.

Tetrisphere - Succesfull twist on the Tetris series
Mischief Makers - Awesome 2d game
Robotron 64 - Easy to play action game
Rocket robot on Wheels - Great 3d platformer
New Tetris - My FAVORITE n64 game

tony hawk 1!

all the others have been said. A good party game is blitz the original or 2000

I haven't played 2001 but its different than the ones on xbox, ps2 gamecube etc. Its a lot better IMO

jet force gemini
legend of zelda ocarina of time
legend of zelda majora's mask
all bomberman games
shadowman
mario 64
wwf no mercy
mario kart 64
mischief makers
space station silicon valley
quest 64
banjo kazooie
banjo tooie
donkey kong 64
mystical ninja
mortal kombat trillogy

I love all of these games and still play them today because all of these games are classics that can't be replaced. one of the very best on that list is space station silicon valley. You are a computer chip that takes over animal's bodies and your goal is to pass each level following each objective. the cool thing about this game is that each animal is different in speed, strength, and agility.

Body Harvest
Castlevania
Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards
Star Wars Shadows of the Empire
Shadowgate 64
Turok The Dinosaur Hunter
Yoshi's Story

Beetle Adventure Racing (better off the path exploring then the Rush series)
Mario Golf (different courses, obviously)
MArio Kart
Mario 64
Star Fox 64
Bust A Move 2 or 99' (no loading problems like all other console versions)
Tetrishpere
Diddy Kong Racing
Both Zeldas
Yoshi's Story (more for the art style of the game then the simple game itself)
Mischief Makers
Doom 64 (unique levels and smoothest running FPS on system -from memory, admittedly)
Kirby 64
Banjo Kazooie (if you don't mind alot of collectiong items)
Mario Party 2+3 (or 1, but 1 has the worst minigames)
Turok (the first one)
Pilotwings 64
Paper Mario
Blast Corps
Lode Runner 64 (cheap)
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Fifa 98'

Stay away from

Donkey Kong 64 - tedious is a complement....
Hexen (single worst game I have ever played on the 64)

Don't get if you have the Gamecube versions unless cheap.....

Mario Tennis
Waverace 64
Super Smash Brothers

Conker's Bad Fur Day- Hilarious, yet manages to put gameplay first.

Banjo-Kazooie- Similar to Conker, but without the humor.

Ocarina of Time- Is best game ever a reason?

Majora's Mask- Not as good as Oot, but still impressive.

Super Mario 64- So much to do, and it's really easy to just pick up and jump around for hours.
