NCAA Football '08 - OUT NOW!! Bring it on!!

Yeah, looks GREAT. Too bad my 360 will probably be in repair by then....hopefully I will have it back by then. Not too pleased with MS though. I could always get it for PS3....but I usually buy cross-platform games for the 360.

This does look great....I guess the delay will give me time to wait for ROSTERS to get uploaded somewhere.

If you can pick between both, pick the 360 version for sure. Remember NCAA football, All Star football 2k8 and Madden 08 will all run at 60 fps on 360 compared to 30 fps on PS3 this year.

That said, still debating on this one. I have been getting more into college football(makes the draft that much better), but i know ill be getting madden in august. Do i really need 2 football games? hmmm

Yes....what I usually do is play NCAA for a while (while using REAL names for a Roster Update), export like 4 years of players, then play Madden with the Draft classes saved...that is always GREAT.

You can usually get $30 for NCAA by then anyways if you want to trade it in.

I will still get the 360 version, just pissed about having to send my console in for the THIRD time.
 
Do you really need 2 football games? Yes. I used to HATE having to draft generic rookies in Madden. Exporting the NCAA draft classes and drafting REAL rookies is so much better, that was always the first thing I used to do when playing Madden, import the NCAA guys and sim a season and draft.

As for this years game, I have heard 3 different sources (Game Informer, GameSpot, 1UP), through podcasts, say that this game finally "feels" next generation, and they all pretty much had very high praise for it, especially the new recruiting features. It's in my Gamerang queue right now.
 
I was never really a big fan of the Madden series but I love the NCAA Football series. I just don't really care for Pro football....I guess being from Houston you can't really blame me.

Yeah, I'm really psyched for this years NCAA. I find it much more fun than Madden and constantly play it year after year.

game looks great this year, im pumped. Demo is supposed to be out sometime next week. probably 1 minute quarters again, but who cares, a demo is better than no demo

While for me, Madden/Allpro football would be a no-brainer purchase for the 360, I'm still on the fence on NCAA for which version to get.

The advantage that the ps3 has in this case is that getting the roster names for NCAA would be SOOO much easier than the 360 version. I'll probably need to play both to see if the extra frames are worth the tradeoff in having all the players' names.

I thought saves were tied to the PS3 console or something like that. Doesn't matter to me, since I already have a 360 transfer kit and memory card.

I heard that it would be a simple matter of d/l rosters from web to mem card, then d/l from card to ps3. Plus, I don't have the transfer kit/mem card, so that extra cost for just 2 games (this and college hoops) is not an option for me. :)

Have to agree! I never had any interest in college football until I went to my first UT game. I went to plenty of pro games, but after my first UT game (UT vs. A&M '98...when Ricky broke the record) I was completely hooked \_/!
 
Cant wait to play as USF and FSU.

The two college football games I have been to (FSU vs Duke) (USF vs West Virginia) were much more exciting than the Bucs game i went to

This version going to be like the Xbox version last year? I loved the create-a-player and work on the skills et al.

If it doesn't have that, I'll pass.

I use a transfer kit with a Memory Card. That is the only way I really know.

Too bad I will miss the launch, as my 360 will be shipped for repairs (my box should show up 7/10, so I ship 7/11...hopefully get it back before August)

Check EBAY, but I think the cards go for $40 retail....but I picked up TWO for $30 back when NCAA came out last year. The Xfer kit is like $15 maybe. You can also just order a card with rosters loaded from various sources.

Yeah transfer kit is definitely the way to go. Well worth the little investment. Especially if you play this and either of the college basketball games.
 
It might be a good thing to snag the transfer kit now. Any NCAA gamers who bought the 360 from fall 07 on will probably be looking for the kit after the game hits the shelves. Last year every gaming store was out of it and I had to order online and wait a few days for it to ship, then another week for delivery.
 
I don't think the roster trade via transfer kit is going to work this year. One of the recent dashboard updates made all game saves tied to the console of their origin to prevent people from trading gamesaves to get achievements. That screws trading roster files too.

If true, that is horrible. I hate playing with generic names....the roster thing works great....hopefully FK Rosters gets them up.

Actualy that is sorta true. Some roster makers had their 360's locked. But there are still others that can make rosters.

In any case, where's everyone else get their rosters from? I forgot where I got mine for free last year, but I recently got an email from them which made it seem like the rosters would only be available immediately if you sent in your memory cards. Do these rosters usually become available for free download within days of release or do you have to wait for the free upload somewhere?

I think it would be difficult to keep a lid on the download file from slipping out for free. The "send your memory card in" market is generally aimed at those without the kit. I'm searching and forum reading will lead people to the file without much difficulty.

they only locked game saves to certain consoles. All of the agme saves on 360gamesaves.com cant be used, they had taken down all the console #s on the saves from there. FK's rosters should work just fine

NCAA always gets me pumped for the actual college football season, I just don't know if the classic EA yearly update is worth 60 bucks or not. CC might have a deal for me to get this on the release date.
