NCAA Football 2006 - DVD Planet - $34.97 (XBOX, PS2)
didn't see that thead when i looked.
It is near the top of page 2, but it would be very easy to overlook since the title doesn't mention NCAA. I don't fault you for missing it.
I think the Burnout games are the best deals there.
Is DVD planet reliable?
I hadn't ordered from them before this, but there are people in the other thread who vouched for them. Also, they are owned by the same company that owns Deep Discount DVD.

DVDPlanet uses the same shipping center as Deepdiscount (everything gets sent out of DDD's distribution center in Illinois), but they're not owned by them. There are a number of companies that use DDD's shipping center but are independently owned (Digital Eyes DVD being another).

DVDPlanet is owned by Ken Crane's, which is a California retail chain specializing in DVDs, home theater, etc. They've been around for years and I've never had anything but good experiences with them.

The only hang-up is if you want NCAA 06 *fast*. You'll get it probably 10 days later than everyone else with the free shipping, but if you don't mind that, it's a great price :)

i'd take advantage of the burnout 3 deal but already bought it at target for 19.99 a couple months back.

Glad to hear that DVD Planet is reliable. I paid for the $2.98 shipping so i wouldn't be waiting more than a few days. It's still a pretty awesome deal at $37.95. I don't like paying 50 bucks for games so this option is much better than waiting months for a price drop.

i can vouch for DVD Planet, especially now finding out it's owned by Ken Crane's ( I used to order Laserdiscs and dvd's from them years ago and loved the prompt service I recieved)... my deals with dvdplanet have been flawless as well...

...as for NCAA... well... I think I'll wait until it is alot cheaper... I just cant fathom paying as much for games that plummet in value over time...

Sorry. I was generalizing, based on the following:
In September 2003, certain assets of DVDPlanet, Inc. were acquired by a subsidiary of Infinity Resources,Inc.

DeepDiscountDVD.com is a division of Infinity Resources, Inc.
I got the impression that the DVD Planet website was now a part of Infinity Resources, Inc., but the B&M location was not.

I ordered this and am expecting it to ship today and am not 100% confident in this company. If anyone gets a confirmation that their order has shipped, please post.

Got an e-mail from DVD Planet support saying it was backordered until 8/2/2005. So with shipping delay that's more than a month away... I can't wait that long so I guess I'll have to spend more $$.

No, I'm sure you're right -- looks like they've farmed out the management of the site to the Deepdiscount folks, though I'm pretty sure "DVD Planet" itself is still being owned and operated by whoever last owned Ken Crane's (how's that for clarity? lol).

As far as when it's going to ship and such, you'd never get this "right on time" from them. I ordered an earlier NCAA game a couple of years ago from Deepdiscount -- it took a couple of weeks. The question is whether or not you want to wait and save $16.

Waiting until August 2nd, though (if that's the case), is a HELL of a wait and I'd rather cancel my order -- you can probably get it used cheaper by that point.

Wow...August 2nd? I just ordered mine last night, so we'll have to see what happens. If it says that for me...I'll probably cancel.

Are there any sites/B&M stores that would price match this?

*EDIT*

I was reading a thread on the NCAA 06 board from gamefaqs with people who ordered from dvdplanet.com and pretty much all of them have gotten it shipped. Maybe you should check out customer service?

Yeah, I e-mailed customer service and they said it was backordered until 8/2. Here's the e-mail that I received from them:

Our records indicate that the following item(s) is out of stock:

TITLE PLAYSTATION 2: NCAA FOOTBALL 2 08/02/05

Our expected date of arrival is listed next to each title.

We apologize for this delay and will ship this item as soon as it arrives into stock.

Darn...my order is now on backorder. Guess I shouldn't have waited so long to order it.

I don't see anything about 8/2/05 as being the ship date though. I emailed them asking when they expect to get it.

I ordered the xbox version on 7/4 and I called in today and they told me that it was backordered until August. I just cancelled it.

Also, has anybody had there order go to available to ship status? I think mine just changed to that today, don't think that is what it was before. I ordered mine fairly recently though, who knows maybe they do orders backwards in the order they receive em.

The CSR told me that by the time that I had ordered (7/4), they had already sold the amount they were getting in. That kind of irratated me. They should at least be telling you that when you order.

Listen, guys, if my memory serves me correctly, Best Buy will probably put this on sale at the start of the college season, so don't worry too much. If its way back ordered, patience maybe the best virtue.

Does anyone's Order Status actually say "Shipped" OR "Backordered," for that matter?

I ordered mine on 6/28 and right now there's nothing in there except it says "Available To Ship"...I haven't gotten any email one way or the other about it.

Mine says available to ship, but I emailed them and it was backordered to the person asking above. I emailed them telling them I wanted to cancel the order. For those that have already canceled how can I tell it goes through? Will it change in the order status? I think I'm just gonna get the game at Sam Goody with some coupons I have.

Yep, they emailed me that it's not available until 8/3....as if we're supposed to know that before we ordered it? What a joke!

I apologize to everyone about my earlier post...this is positively unethical...they ought to, at least, say "8/3 shipping date" in the item description on their site. Last I looked it still said 7/12!

Yeah, usually when something is backordered, the site will say it. Or it will tell us it's out of stock. Especially if they knew of this in advance.

they sent me an email saying they would not get any more in stock until at least 8/3 and that they would ship them sometime after that. i called and canceled.

Sorry guys, I was hoping to get a deal too... just didn't want anyone checking their mailbox for over a month waiting to get the game. I finally broke down and got mine at best buy with the $5 off coupon.

You can tell that your ordered is actually cancelled by logging into their website and clicking on the order. It should say "status: cancelled" or something like that around the middle of the order. It took a while after they e-mailed me to actually show up on their website as cancelled.

This game has had more sales then any other game. This is like the 4th or 5th store that has had it on sale already. I expect this to be 19.99 very soon.
