NE1 else get a call from Reggie Fils-Aime?

Ha! I got a call this evening from Reggie Fils-Aime and EBGames, reminding me to pick up my pre-ordered Wii within 48 hours upon launch day.

When I answered the phone I heard a guy stating "Hi, this is Reggie Fils-Aime from Nintendo of America" and then it switched to a female rep from EBGames/Gamestop, reminding me to pick up my Wii and making some other pitches/statements about the Wii and specials they had going on.

Of course, it was all pre-recorded/automated, but it was still kinda cool/funny to answer the phone and hear "The Reggie-nator" on the other end of the line. :lol:

Anyone else get this call?

I got "the call" too. My wife answered the phone, got all disgusted and said "its Reggie". By the time I got the phone it was the regular annoying EB Games lady.

Oh well.

That was a really nice little touch. I recognized his voice right away and just thought, 'what the hell?'

The deal is an extra 20% trade in on all items traded towards purchase of the Wii. She didn't say anything specifically about the Gamecube.
 
I got one of these as well, and the GameStop girl said that the system would be available at midnight on Saturday. I double checked with the store where I preordered and they said no to the midnight launch. That's fine with me, I didn't want to stay up late; I'd rather be well rested on Sunday for a real marathon session.

Anyway, if Reggie and GameStop girl tell you it's available at midnight, confirm with your store before you go freeze your butt off.
 
I sorta wish I recorded it (my phone has a pushbutton to record conversations feature), but I was dumbfounded by the time he was done talking.
