I have around 70 dollars right now and I need to find an adapter that is cheaper than the official MS one. In store deals would help but if there are some good online ones, post them too.

I went to Fry's and bought a D-Link Wireless Gaming Adapter (model number DGL-3420), and it works just fine. It ran me $50, and although it doesn't match the 360 color scheme (it's black), I've had zero problems with it. I think the only real difference is that the Microsoft adapter uses the 360's power, and the D-Link requires the included AC adapter.

It's plug-and-play, meaning no software needed - just set it up with your home wireless network info on the system blade of the Dashboard, and you should be good to go.

Ok thank you guys, do you guys happen to know the range of these things? My 360 is in my living room and my computer is in my room so its about 30-45 feet I guess do not know for sure. And are any of these in store as well?

Could you guys also please give me the site or store where you guys bought these? That would really help because I dont know what Fry's is. Thank you.

Fry's is generally a west-coast electronics store - think of it as Costco or Sam's Club, but only for electronic stuff (games, DVD's, computer stuff). I like to call it "geek heaven".

Distance-wise, I think you're good up to 100 feet or so, maybe more.

If you're in AZ, CA, GA, OH, TX, NV,WA, IL and IN, they'll charge sales tax online. Shipping is around $8, but I was able to get Overnight shipping for $11 (to CA).

I'm not exactly sure if this is the cheapest price (eBay seems to be a little more, Newegg is $84 + shipping), and Pimpin's solution is cheaper (his runs around $20 + shipping).

That said, welcome to CAG. :)

Just in case you didn't know, the official 360 wireless adapter is $69.99 used at Gamestop. Cheaper if you have the discount card - $63 bucks. Thats what I paid for mine. I just had to call a couple of places and found a store that had one.

I called a couple of Ebgames and Gamestops near me but I can never find one and I tried special ordering one at Gamecrazy but the guy at the counter said I could not because it was too new. Any of this happen to you guys? Any tips on how to get it special ordered or just wait for another person to be at the counter?
