I am a total boob and ended up leaving my digital camera on the bed in Vegas. I know I left it there, and I called them immediately when I got to the airport (20 mins after I left) and they did nothing about it. I'm sure the nice mexican house keeper is taking pics of her snatch right now. But, oh well. :bouncy:

So I am looking for:
Slim
Really big LCD screen.
At LEAST 5 megapixels (..but that is pretty common these days regardless.)
4x optical zoom, but wouldn't mind 5x
Also, whatever that feature that some cameras have for retards like myself who can't take steady pictures? It's like some automatic thing that makes the pictures come out steady even if you have parkinson's?
I'd also prefer it be SD card format, but that's pretty typical these days.

AND most importantly, it should be under $200.

Any suggestions?

I really like Panasonic and Canon cameras. However, I did recently buy this camera: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...200fd&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218014553926 It's done everything I need it to do. I also have a Panasonic and a Canon, and both of those take better pictures than the Fuji. (not that the Fuji takes bad pics).

This is a bit over your $200 limit but it is an excellent camera. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC...44UA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1248674144&sr=8-1

Also check out the Canon SD1200 IS. They can be usually found for around $200.

I have the Panasonic DMC-TZ3, which is the previous version of the one that vihit linked to, but if the TZ5 is anything like the TZ3, I'd highly recommend it.

Edit: The best part? 10x optical zoom. Can't beat that in a camera this size.

^I'll support this posting, my dad has the TZ4 & TZ5, both are good solid camera's. If you want a true pocket camera I would checkout the Canon SD1100 or another SD series model.

Canons are great, but if you get near water, it can not be so great.

Wife bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-FinePix-Z33WP-Waterproof-Green/dp/B001QENO6Q

And we've been having a blast, it may not have all the features of a Canon, but we've continously had it underwater for hours at a time, and have saved well over $300 in 'water cameras' when we go to waterparks and wherever....

The camera has excellent Image Stability, and can pick up faces too. LARGE LCD and like I said, waterproof.

We carry two cameras but when we're out and about and wet, the Fuji is great.

lol, but this is true for like.. every electronic ever.

anyways

i have the panasonic tz5 and it is great!
10x zoom and records 720P video!

only flaw imo are lack of manual controls, but it seems u just want a point and shoot. also if u want a pocket camera dont get this cause its a bit bigger then other digital cameras.

i say try out the cybershots, powershots and check staples and office depot they have pretty good deals.

Get the Canon SD1200IS. I just bought it about a month ago and I LOVE it. It's small and it takes amazing pictures. The video isn't the best, but it's serviceable, and I got it mainly to take pictures.
