Need Advent Rising UPC scan

I participated in the (so-called) contest & have my gamertag, but lent my copy of the game to a friend who is now on extended leave til November.

I don't get how this guy could be a scammer. It seems like they will know if he participated in the online game by his gamertag right? So it's not like he could just make something up and send it in.
