I have been wanting to pick up Robocop for a while. I found the 2nd and 3rd movies at WM for a Gotta Buy price of $5.00. The original RoboCop, however was a bit more expensive. Being the best of the three, I was wondering which version provides the best experience. I did some research and came up with the following:

The 20th Anniversary Edition

The Bare Bones Edition

The Criterion Collection Edition
http://www.amazon.com/Robocop-Crite...=pd_bbs_6?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1198947220&sr=8-6

Help would be greatly appreciated as I am really eyeing the 20th Anniversary edition right now!

I have the criterion version and I think it is great. I think I had to pay around $35 for it back when it was released. I haven't seen the 20th anniversary edition, but avoid the bare bones edition as it is only the R Rated Cut and excludes some of the original footage intended to be part of the film (footage cut when the film got rated NC-17 the first time round the MPAA).

I hate multiple editions of movies.....I always feel compelled to buy them all.

The Criterion edition is a good choice, although it may be hard to find at a decent price.
