anyone know where I can find a deal on these.

I do not care if new or used. Going to try local shop later since gamestop does not seem to have one

Can't you just use any USB keyboard and/or headset? Just take them from your comp.

If you need a headset, try Overstock. They have the Logitech headsets refurbished for $25.
I have the retail PS2 Logitech headset if you wanted to trade it for something.
what are you looking for?

on a side note, any USB keyboard works?
I am looking for PS2/PS1 games pretty much. I am open to all offers.
guess I am out of luck. I just got a PS2 and that is the first SONY system I have ever had.

Yeah, any USB keyboard will do, as long as it's plug-and-play (a.k.a. you don't need to install a driver or something, since a PS2 can't recognize that).

Cool then you;re practically getting Socom for free. (My standalone headset was about 30, I didnt much care to get socom but thats just personal preferance.)

I passed on it since I really did not want SOCOM and EB has used ones online for 19.99 before any coupons

I still have not gotten a headset. I really need to get one now though since I am in the R&C beta.

I saw a used SOCOM headset, but it was missing the microphone cover and did not look very comfy. Is it comfy? If it is I may go back and get it as I can take the cover off my broken Xbox headset, but wanted to make sure it was a decent headset
Curios too (come on R&C beta, get here NOW!)
I know, I want it so bad. All those CC games will probably get neglected

well, luckily my girlfriend is away tonight. Shes with a few other girls, one of which is getting married tommorow, so i'll actually ahve my choice of TV and room of where i want to play games.

Wait, you say. Your GF wont be around at night and your happy? I say yes, i get to play my games for as long as i want, and if all the girls decide to get freaky, i told her to at least bring back pictures.

I've said too much...

My K-Mart has the Logitech headsets (not the socom ones) on clearance for like $21. You should check there. And I don't think they are uncomfortable at all...maybe if you play with it on for like 3 or 4 hours straight.

Don't get the cheap-o SOCOM original headset. It blows ass and hurts at the same time.

thanks for the advice I will go tomorrow and check.

Anyone else have any ideas on where to get a headset for cheap

Did not get to K-Mart today, but I went to Gamestop while I was at the mall and saw a headset from DATEL. It looked suprising comfy (the earpiece looked superior to any of the other headsets for the PS2) and was wondering if it worked well?

anyone have an opinion on it? At this point it looks like the one I plan on getting
how much was it?
24.99. Not that much cheaper than the official one, but it looked really comfy. I only looked at the earpiece though.

I use on for the Xbox and they are pretty comfy...But I don't know if it's any better than the independent Logitech one. I like Logitech's idea of changable ear pieces. Then again I dunno if there are any design differences from xbox to PS2 in the datel set.

I was in the same situation you're in now when I was shopping for my headset. I did a little research, and I found that the Datel headset is not compatible with all online games that use a headset. When comparing the Sony/Logitech and Logitech ones, I found good reports on both, but there were a few complaints saying that the Sony/Logitech ones don't always transmit your voice clearly. I settled for the Logitech headset ($25 at BB with GGC), and it's great. No problems yet, and it even comes with three different earpieces so you can see which is the most comfortable for you.
