Ok...so I have a $50 Gift Card for Best buy and I'm looking to pick up a decent Photo Printer. I don't want to spend TOO much, maybe $150-$200 MAX....cheaper would be nice.

I was looking at the Canon and Epson brands, any recomendations or hands on experience?

I have a Sony DSC-P150 Digital Camera, so that is where a majority of the images would come from.

I would grab the Epson R320 which is right at 199.99. Awesome photos, uses the 6 ink cartridges and prints directly on CD's and DVD's which is a bonus.
 
Isn't the HP PHoto INK a bit more expensive than most other competitors? I could be wrong....I just always thought they were expensive, although I haven't comapred Ink too much

I've also been interested in the EPSON R320 that prints on CD's. what is the print quality like for printing directly on CD/DVD's?

I'm tempted.....anyone know what the main difference between the R200 and R320 from Epson?
 
Well, I may go with the Epson. My friend works at Best Buy and he says he can get a GOOD deal on a Canon or Epson. I like the idea of printing on a DVD also. Just have to find some affordable printable media.

I'll look a bit more into it....and see what price my friend can get.
 
My Epson Stylus Color 760 still works and it is several years old. Of course, I do not use it anymore, but it is still there. Both Epson and Canon are very reliable brands.

this is the one i have. got mine NIB from BB $65 (don't ask)

they are normally like $150 or so...works nice. great 4x6 pics. i think that is all it does
 
Thanks gaelan....but I'm looking to do all sizes....at least 8x10. I'm still doing a little research and waiting to see what kind of price my friend can get on one at BB.
 
My wife just got this one for Christmas and I am amazed how nice of a photo it produces. It really is like you had it developed somewhere - I didn't believe it until I saw it...
 
I picked this one up last year for my wife. She loves it. Great pictures!! The only problem is the grayscale cartridge. The printer supports 4 inks carts, but only have room for 3. So if you leave the grayscale cart in and print regulat black and white pages (text) to are using expensive grayscale ink. On the other hand, black and white photos look AMAZING!

If you are looking at doing 8x10's as well as smaller photos i would definitely go with the Epson R320. It is a heck of a nice printer for the price. Our Epson rep at my local BB showed us the CD print quality and it was fantastic. Also the epson printers have all of their color cartridges as each color so you dont have to buy a whole new cartridge when you run out of one color.The Epsons IMO are best for photo prints too since they use the durabright ink and paper, it makes them stand out just a little more!
 
Thanks...I'm leaning towards the Epson R320 (or R300 or R200)....I don't need the LCD screen. Is their REALLY a major difference between the print quality of these 3 Epson's?

Also eyeing the Canon Pixma 5000 or 6000
 
The Epsons do really pretty close to the same quality. You Could just as well go a step down and not spend the extra money on the LCD screen if it is not a feature you will use.
