Need Help getting a new Receiver.....
The receiver you linked to is not a 5.1 receiver. It only does Dolby Pro-Logic decoding ... so it won't be much use for movies or gaming.

If you like Sony :

6.1 receiver with Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES, and Dolby Pro Logic II/IIx for $150.
i have this receiver and have no problems with it...only thing i dont like is that for some reason they dont give a optical port for DVD so i have to use the SA- CD optical port:roll:

Thanks for the help so far, since I have no idea what to actually look at. But I guess I want a 5.1 or higher system then....
How much do you want to spend? Are there features you must have? Answer those two questions and we'll work from there.
I really don't want to spend more than $150 if I can, and features I have no idea lol. All I want it to do is make my 60 inch HD Sony sound amazing for my 360. Sorry I can't answer anymore, since I really do not know much about audio. Thanks for all the help so far btw everyone.

60" HD TV and you only want to spend 150? Interesting. I've read that you should get 6.1 if you can, but I don't think any DVD I've picked up has 6.1 encoding - all of them are 5.1.

More questions, sorry: do you have anything else you want to run through the receiver? How many inputs (and what kind of inputs) does your television have? We need to know what you're going to plug in before you can pick something.

Lol, the only reason I want to spend $150 is because I really don't know what I am looking at, plus my parents were the ones who just bought the TV a couple days ago. I am the one who wants the surround sound.

Also, I am not sure how many inputs, I will have to check tomorrow. Thanks for the help again.
