Hi all. I just got my hands on a Gamecube today (no, I didn't steal it...my brother actually GAVE his to me) and I have a few games for it already:

Soul Calibur 2
Zelda Collectors Edition
Zelda: Wind Waker
Zelda: Four Swords
MarioKart
Super Smash Bros. Melee

The trouble is, I've either played or beaten all of these games, so I need some very awesome Gamecube games to add to my collection. They don't necessarily have to be cheap, but I do want them to be enjoyable.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Viewtiful Joe, Super Monkey Ball 1&2, Skies of Arcadia Legends are all great games.
I second viewtiful joe and Skies, also check out Ikaruga and Sonic Mega Collection.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with Beyond Good & Evil. Other great sleeper hits are Metal Arms : Glitch in the System and Freedom Fighters. For racers you have to have Burnout 2 : Point of Impact and F-Zero GX. For scares, Eternal Darkness and any Resident Evil. Timesplitters 2 is great FPSing as is Metroid Prime. Nothing beats Splinter Cell when it comes to stealth. And the great thing is all these games are $19.99 or less with exception of Resident Evils that are not the remake or 0.

Going to reinforce some opinions all raedy here:

Viewtiful Joe
Ikaruga
Metroid Prime
Skies of Arcadia (If you missed it on DC)

I mean you cant go wrong with Wario World, Megaman Transmission, or 1080 Avalanche. They will hopefully go on sale again tomorrow at a price of 9.99 each, that is pretty cool

My top choices, some already mentioned.

Metroid Prime- just simply an amazing game, and cheap now

Prince of Persia - platforming doesn't get any better

Beyond Good and Evil - Sleeper game, one of the best this gen IMO, great blend of action and adventure with lots of variety. The story and style remind me of some adventrue games like Full Throttle, while the action is zelda-esque.

Eternal Darkness - Resident Evil with better controls, story, voice acting, presentation, well better everything.

Pikmin- unique strategy game, cheap now too.

Freedom Fighters - great action game with light squad based stuff, another cheap one.

You really can't go wrong with any of the games mentioned here, especially Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, Pikmin, and F-Zero GX.

I would also strongly recommend Star Wars Rogue Leader, that is a must own for the GC.

... throw in my 2 cents

Get these:
Eternal Darkness: Just Quality Entertainment
Super Monkey Ball 2: Very Challenging, Best party games
Metroid Prime: was hard for me to get into, then it just owned me
Mario Sunshine: pure platform joy
*Resident Evil 4: will blow your mind.
Ikaruga or Viewtiful Joe: Either way, you'll get your a@@ handed to you

recommended with reservations:
F-Zero GX: Fun, but the story mode kicked my A@@
Skies of Arcadia: Put aside a lot of time -- Save points are an hour apart.
*Resident Evil: Wait for RE4. Oh please, wait for RE4!!!

Thanks guys. I have Prince of Persia and Beyond Good and Evil for my XBox already, so I can attest to their greatness. Looks like I'm going to be picking up a ton of games within the next few days.

If anyone else can recommend any games not already mentioned here (I'll be getting most of these), please don't hesitate to do so. And thanks again to everyone for their help.

FZero GX

Since you apparently have the ability to play Four Swords, go get Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Fun as a multiplayer game.

MGS (especially if you played & enjoyed the PSX version)

Rogue Leader or Rebel Strike. Can't go wrong with either, as the non-foot levels in Strike are excellent, as is the multiplayer.

Viewtiful Joe

Eternal Darkness

I'd say REmake, but may as well wait for RE4

Metroid Prime

ANIMAL CROSSING IS THE DEVIL... or is it crack? hmm... BUY IT!
The Mario Party games are fun, if you have others to play with.
If you have 4 players its great I personally like Mrio Party 4 out of the Gamecube bunch.

Obviously if it isnt clear enough check out Viewtiful Joe, F-Zero, Metroid, Pikmin is neat, Eternal Darkness, Prince of Persia, I ninja is pretty fun, Ikaruga takes dedication and time to perfect it.

Also Wario World is a great rental as well as Glitch being a really good game.

Look out in the near future for Resident Evil 4, Killer 7, Mario Party 6, Zelda, Metroid 2 etc

I agree, me and my friends play Mario Party 5 all the time. And we just recently started playing Wario Ware Inc. But don't bother if you're gonna play alone, it's definatly no fun.

Just don't buy Phantasy Star Online...that game is like digital crack, you will never get around to playing your other games if you do.

Basicly everything that has been said is fine, except Mario Sunshine, Pikmin, and ED, those really aren't needed and hugle overrated. Plus I would just wait for Pikmin 2, no dumb time limits.

Resident Evil takes ED out to the shed and beats it with a shovel. I know that may sound stupid, but RE is way better. Played through RE 6 or more times (once as Chris and too many times to count as Jill). also MGS should not be missed

yeah I've had a GC since launch and I can't STAND eternal darkness, although I'm a huge RE fan. All the other mentioned titles I reccomend, although I wasnt a huge Phantasy Star fan. Some others are:

Mario Kart:DD
Hitman 2
Billy Hatcher
Star Fox

Be sure to preorder Tales of Symphonia. Its looking to be a great RPG.
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee is a great 4 player party game. Its only $20 now.
Eternal Darkness is the only surrival horror type game I have liked so far. Its cheap and worth it.
Skies of Arcadia is one of the best RPGs ever made IMO. Pick it up.

Has anyone played Metal Arms: Glitch in the System? It's only $19.99 at my Best Buy now and I was thinking about picking it up tomorrow, as well as a few other games mentioned on here. But if it sucks I'll steer clear of it.

I'd highly recommend the Resident Evil games, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and Star Wars: Rogue Leader.

Also, TimeSplitters 2 is an incredible game that can be bought for cheap. Best played with 2 or more players, but can still have some fun with 1 person.

well, yesterday i got my mega man and 1080 avalanche games. i haven't figured out megaman too well yet but i love 1080. i would say that if you can get it for the 10$ at ebgames....then do it. wario world is good too.
