I'm gonna go to Vegas and need to book my reservations. Can I please get some input on where to go for some cheap prices for flight and hotel?
doesn't orbitz.com or something do shit like that. Watch TV you'll see a commercial
Very helpful.

Travelocity seems to be the cheapest.
I too am going to Vegas next year.

Last time I stayed with my family, we stayed at The Excalibur. it was awesome. It was cheaper too. Right now, a 6 day stay at the Excalbur in july is like $680 a person (thats hotel WITH flight.

Vegas is very cheap, because they want you to drop millions in the casino.

Thank you all for youlls info.

The first time I stayed in Vegas it was at Circus Circus... seems kiddie and a little scary walking through the lobby but the rooms are very nice..

I want to stay at either Luxor or IT....

LUXOR!!!!!!!!
Yes yes YES YES!
It's pretty cheap TOO!

Go for it! Do a search on Travelocity. That's where I'm aiming for next! It looks so awesome there.

What's "IT"? I cant figure that out.

I'm going to go to Luxor or Adventure Island. Both are all reasonably priced!

Treasure Island... The only thing I didnt like about the Luxor is the way it looks from the inside. It looks unfinished, maybe the Excalibur is the best bet...

Me and all my friends just want to stay at Circus Circus because its super cheap but were girls going with us so need to tighty up...haha

PM Pookymeister. He got married at Excalibur IIRC.

The Luxor is great. The MGM sucks. TI is solid. CC sucks. The Hilton is actually very underrated. Excalibur is good. Venetian is eh.

Wild! I just checked out of the Bellagio yesterday morning! I went for work though, so it was paid for... I do know that the promotional rate our group got was $179/night (though they tend to give you a good rate when you're rolling with Leo's girlfriend). My room was absolutely nuts, and if you have to go to Vegas, the Bellagio seems like one of the less tacky hotels. Do yourself a favor and don't ever order room service though... Eggs and coffee in the morning come out to $35 on average (i didn't make the mistake, but a couple of the girls with us did).

Have you been to Vegas before? What's your travel situation... you and some drinking buddies or you and the misses? (please, please don't say you and the kids)

Wynn > Bellagio >>>>>>>>>everyone else.

I hit Vegas several times a year and the Wynn has become my destination of choice.
I recommend Travelocity. Unless you have a flight agent, or what ever the heck it's called.
I'm going in August, can I stay at your place chase? :D

I dunno, do you have a rack and a gerbil? ;)

I have to make this quick because I'm leaving soon, but I recommend checking prices when you book the hotel and airfare separately, and checking for different days. Crimson and I stayed at the Excalibur recently for $250 over 5 days because we got a discount online by booking through the hotel's website. Airfare was separate, but we still got a good deal.

Also, you absolutely must see Phantom (of the Opera) while your there. I demand it.

I'm turning 21 in August and have been looking around for hotels. Did anyone else go to vegas when they turned 21? If so, where did you stay and what did you end up doing?

At first it was just me and some buddies going to have fun and chase some tail. But then one day when we were all out some girls that hang out with us said that they never been so that we should invite them. Shot, five doods only or five doos and three hot girls and one ok looking one? Easy enough decision. I dont have a misses but for the trip this girl that i like is gonna stay with me. Wee. Hopefully I dont come back married or with a germil up my XXXX lol.

Ill be there from the 14th-21th... if your up there around that time ill buy you a bday drink. Itll be a body shoot at Coyote Ugly from one of the big breasted bartenders there lol.

I'm headed to Vegas the weekend of the 13th! Small world.

lilboo, I'll get something itchy just for you.

Luxor isn't bad... BUT it's all the way at the end of the strip. You have a bit of a hike to get to the tram that'll take you to the other end (tram is located next to Paris, LV). If you want a central location, check Paris, Bellagio, Ceasars Palace. Even New York, NY or MGM Grand. Luxor is cool, but a pain in the ass to get from one location to the next INSIDE... and good luck finding the elevator that takes you to your floor. There's elevators, "inclinators", and stairs that never lead you to exactly where you want to go. There's also a cheap little chain fast-food food court... if you can find it. We were there for two days before we realized there was a cheap food court.

If you want a themed place... Luxor is good. If you want a place that's conveniently located to everything else... look further up the strip. The Mirage actually seemed pretty cool. Don't go too far up the strip though... old Vegas is some run down shit.

Most of the posters are spot on saying Luxor/Excalibur are a bit away from the rest of the strip. It's not the end of the world if you have a car, but walking it in the warm weather is a bad idea. It's possible to walk it but you better really hammered or be with people who are down for it.

Me and two of my friends walked from Circus Circus to MGM one time, but they love walking and I didn't care.

And taking a Taxi from place to place could start hurting your vacation budget. It's not that bad if you have 4/5 people but a taxi sure as hell isn't cheap.

More receently I've stayed at the "Planet Hollywood" Casino. It has pretty good rooms and each time we've stayed there we got a nice view of the Balagio.

Since then, my parents got a house in Vegas and I can skip getting a room and stay there. I actually just back from vegas today, and was even there last week. I hope to go back on the 4th of july and enjoy the 3 day weekend.

We stayed at the Excalibur and really had no trouble at all getting around...
Walking and or taxis..FTW?

Maybe we just aren't lazy.

I went to Vegas in March and stayed at Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon. I would recommend this place. The casino area is meh but the rooms are really nice and big. It is very reasonable price considering its in the middle of the strip. If you are lucky you get a room with a view of the Bellagio fountains. Great place to stay if you are only looking for a hotel to sleep in.

Not a bad choice, but my call would be the hotel next to it, the Flamingo. Very cheap and great location. I have stayed at Ecalibur, Venitian. NY NY, MGM Grand, Caesars, and they are all good hotels. My advice is to get something mid strip, and think about why you are going. Are you trying to impress? Then Bellagio and Caesars. Just looking for a place to crash and have a good time? Flamingo or Excalibur.

Awesome. I'm going the same weekend. Arriving on the 13th and leaving the 15th. I booked my room at the Luxor ($99/night).

I wont be getting any STDs Ill be the one handing them out LOL.

I wouldnt mind staying at Paris of Treasure Island. Luxor the more I think about being there the less and less I want to stay there. I dont know maybe ill see if we can rent a house or something there is a good amount of people going after itll be cheaper and we dont have to worry about shit... I saw some places for like 1300 for a week... four bedrooms...

Well see.

Because I remember in March when I was there I don't know if it was because I was drunk or what but I didnt like the Luxor at all. It would also be that I lost 250 bucks in 15 minutes there also.

I totally gonna but out the gambling part this time around just shopping, eating, drinking and dancing at clubs-plus whatever happens at night haha.

I found that the Bellagio and the Wynn pay off the best or at least for me they did.

Thank you for all the help.

I got a thing in my email from southwest for $170 round trip, wee!

Just need to get some hotel action now and ill be set.

How else is gonna be in vegas in August?

I just got back from the Venetian. It was superb (at least my room was). I'll post pics when I get them uploaded, but it was huge. I got a free upgrade due to them not having the room ready at check-in time though, and had an amazing view of the Mirage and TI from my room.

We always drive to Vegas even if its a 5 hour drive or its very cool (in 1998 there was pockets of snow on the I-15 in the desert. Then we have gone to Vegas where it was 116).

Sadly with the price of everything skyrocketing are family no longer goes to Vegas anymore.

Yeah i hear that on that price trip but shoot thats my summer vacation ( well summer vacation part 3 haha ).

I would love to stay at the Vene but Im not a baller like that maybe if I would have done this like three months ago yeah.

Alright, here's a shot of the room I stayed in at the Venetian:

(the Mirage is also visible, but is off to the left. You can see part of their entrance in the lower left.

If you want the best deals for Vegas, then you have to have a travel agent. These online sites are pure ripoffs. Just wait till your flight gets delayed, canceled, rained out, etc. Online travel agents can suck my nuts. If you want a good travel, and a local one to Vegas (I'm here), then send me a PM. I can give you a number to one that's a real CAG's travel agent and will give you crazy sick deals ($30 hotel stay through the weekend on the strip (i.e. New York New York, Monte Carlo, Excalibur) (note, I'm guessing not all the time though). Also, it depends. Since it is summer, everyone is starting there trips and we're pretty packed now, especially that a ton of conventions are coming. You could try off the strip, which for the most part is just as good, but will most likely be less. For instance, The Palms is very fashionable, but off the strip. The same can be said for the Rio. Also, if you want a great limo company check out my link in my sig. They kick ass. I've used them a few times and loved them. Never had better:
I've heard Planet Hollywood is typically the cheapest (decent) place on the strip.
PH is probably the lamest hotel on the strip. It was so much better when it was the Aladdin, but they fucked it up and they're fucking up the property again. It's an eyesore and a piece of shit of one. The buffet is great, and reasonably priced for what you get at least.
Vegas is driving distance for me so I don't have to worry about flights, but is it too late to get good hotel prices for a July trip?
No, there's still plenty of time, just don't expect anything reasonable on July 4...well maybe if you go off strip.
Wynn > Bellagio >>>>>>>>>everyone else.

Umm.....I'd say buffet-wise, they're equal. Also, pretty much the rest as well. currently, Bellagio has the better shows, paid and free. The one thing that the Wynn has on Bellagio is that the rooms just take it to another level (after I thought Bellagio had done this). Still, Wynn is kind of lame and overrated. It gets a lot of hype that really isn't worth it. The decor is nicer at Bellagio, and they won't charge you 15 for a tiny sandwich. The decor at the Wynn is like going back in time to your Grandma's 70s style house.
