Need your opinion on laptop

If you really want to do 3D design, get something with a dedicated video card.

That system has a video card off of the system board, and it has very weak 3D rendering capabilities.

the power adapter outlet on the back of the computer where you would plug in the AC adapter in busted from the main board and is basically floating around in my computer. I asked on the dell forums how much it would be to send it in and they said around $700. So I said screw it, might as well buy a new one.

What about the HP zd8000 Series. It's $1199. (I know it's just a BIT over your $1000 mark), but look at these specs:

check out dell if you're on a budget. The 9300 is the one you want to look at if you want a high res screen.

I know dell has a bad name among some people but I've always had a good experience with them. I've ordered 5 desktops and 1 laptop over the past few years and never had a problem with any of them.

And if you're ever in need for a coupon, check out gotapex. I got 10% off base price, 30% off upgrades, and 35% off overall price on my laptop from there.

Quoted from OP, "I dont think I want a Dell this time, not after the shitty work on the AC outlet."

So.. uh.. got any other suggestions?
