The ending of the serial anime was horrific.

The director of Evangelion said at some point that End of Eva was the real ending (which is why it's denoted as Episode 25 and 26 Director's Cut) so yeah, you definitely want to have it. fucking great movie too... it's as fucked up as you'd expect. I thought I'd finished Evangelion when the final volume of Platinum came out, but I hadn't seen End of Evangelion... when I finally did get to watching the movie, it felt as though I'd seen a real ending to the series.

Only downside to buying End of Evangelion now is that Manga is planning to release the Renewal version of End of Evangelion and Death & Rebirth sometime in 2007. That's going to mean video quality improvements similar to what you get by stepping up to Eva Platinum from the original Eva release.

imo, the only way it could be worse then the original series ending is if it's 2 hours of the same crap that was in the last 2 episodes :lol:

The person that doesnt like it is a close friend of mine, both of us being movie buffs, yet we deviate in opinions sometimes. He loves spiderman 2, I couldnt find it to be a bigger dissapointment. Long explanation not needed, I know, but Ill just say once kristen Dunst was mary jane (and that she didnt Die), I lost hope for that film (WHY KRISTEN DUNST???)
I believe End of Eva is everything that nge missed in the series. The character development is key, yes, but something I learned growing up, you always finish what you started. I wanted to know wth happened with the plot they used to deliver this psychological trek.
I do believe it was until Asuka did what she did when i thought eva completely redeemed itself. the second part of the movie was just icing on the cake (exactly what psych stuff should be....secondary/supplementary)
 
I have the old release, Perfect Collection, but I misplaced the box it came in. Anyone have any ideas how I can get another?

I'll have to reserve my judgment for when I see it. Some shaq-fuer has had it 3 days past the due date! I know, that makes my other post sound judgmental, but man, I really didn't like "shit, we're running out of money" atmosphere of the last 2 eps.

btw, kirsten dunst is hot, that's why ;)
