Oohh...I still wanna kill her...In my eyes, she helped ruin Buffy. She only had one decent story arc, and that was the one that introduced her. And that's only because it led to one of the best episodes of the show, The Gift. If it wasn't for that, I'd definitely hate her...Now it's just kind hate her.

You'd still do her given the chance, I'd bet. ;)

Probably. But I'd beat the hell out of her afterwards. ;)
Holy crap.

BG&E is amazing. I know that it's been discussed many, many times on the site, but why on earth did this drop in price so quickly?

I just wish I could find the stupid store where I go to buy the pearl and animal detectors. Any chance any of you would happen to know and could tell me so I don't break my vow to not look at GameFAQs?
You have to go to that store as a story point, if I remember right. You might just not be far enough along yet.

Beyond Good and Evil. One of the most interesting and overlooked games in the past couple of years.

Beyond Good & Evil. It's a quintessential cheapass game.

I never really watched Buffy, but from what I've seen it was awful from the beginning.

And that's why I don't have much faith in your opinion on TV shows ;)

The first season is only okay, and then it ramps up considerably for seasons two and three. Four goes downhill fast, with five spiking back up to almost as good as two and three. Then it goes downhill again for six and seven, though not as far a drop as four. Once you've seen seasons two, three, and five, the show is awesome.

I've only seen a few episodes, and the only one I remember is Hush. It was ok, but maybe that's just I didn't have to listen to any dialog.

Hush becomes better, in my mind, when you've watched enough of the show to get the humor, because it's amazing that the humor still carries over even in an episode that is mostly devoid of dialogue. The other episode that I consider in that vein of a "gimmicky" episode that works amazingly well is Once More With Feeling, the musical episode. Whedon seems to be in his element in the shows like these two. Personally, I consider Joss to be amazing. All three of his shows, IMO, were great at getting the right mix of humor, action, and just something that made them great, plus, he is one of the best writers I've seen ever for X-Men.

I have to admit I've never really given any of his shows a chance, maybe if I see the Buffy sets for really cheap I'll check it out.

It's official: I'm not getting a job this summer.

The grocery store that had previously told me I had a job did a 180 today, telling me instead that I'm not needed anymore because they've transferred over people from closing stores. This, after they give me all of the information, have me take a drug test, and tell me to come back to set up a date for orientation.

fuck you too.

I've tried a lot of places, and all to no avail. I've tried retail; none of the stores in the area are hiring. I've tried restaurants; again, I haven't been able to find an opening. I've tried asking my friends; all of the leads I've gotten have not worked out in the end. I've tried with the county, city, and state, and heard nothing from any of them.

I can't say I blame them - I had a maximum of three months to work at the beginning of the summer, and I'm down to a month and a half. I wouldn't hire me for that little time. On top of that, I don't have any experience because I was never allowed to have a job in high school. That's just making it that much more difficult to get anything more than a quick glance at the application before it's thrown into the trash. And it sure doesn't help that Michigan's economy is going down the tubes.

Most of my friends that didn't have jobs before the summber began don't now. I really should give up looking; I wouldn't be the only one to do so, and I think I'm really out of options at this point. Still, that doesn't change one fact...

I need money. I won't have any. fuck.

You will not be disappointed. Seasons 2 and 3 of Buffy are some of the best television in the history of the world. Season one is decent but it's more of a monster-of-the-week thing but it does a nice job setting up future episodes and developing the characters (plus it's only 13 eps). Seasons 4-7 are still better than most TV out there but not quite as good as 2 and 3 (although season 5 is awesome and parts of season 6 are great too but in a depressing sort of way).

Very well, I'll keep my eyes open.

Besides, if I could sit through season 2 of Dark Angel just for Jessica Alba I'm pretty sure I could watch anything. And compared to that Buffy probably looks like the greatest show ever.

Gothic: Try a staffing agency? They usually have short-term work placements for people willing to do manual labour.

Jayverh speaks the truth on this one. Season 4 was a bit of a low point, IMHO, though better than most of the drek out in the last few years on other networks.

Forever and ever, Amen.

Isn't that exactly what I said before guys ;)?

But it's the truth. Hell, I even enjoyed season seven. I'm not entirely sure why, but it may have been because James Marsters became an amazing actor during it, or the return of Faith and Angel to the show for their small bits.

I like any episode with Spike
BTW, my parents just dropped off my cake and b-day enjoyments... score.

Gothic_Walrus - Go to a Job Center. Not only will they find you work, but you can actually have just a job for a day. It can be anything from stocking to outdoor work, but if your in need of cash, it should work fine

And yes, score on the cake and b-day thingies.

Ouch... Season 2 of Dark Angel? yeah that was bad - if you can sit through that then Buffy will seem god-like in comparison. Too bad though - I kind of liked the first season of Dark Angel and thought it had potential but it went in the completely wrong direction.... but damn Jessica Alba was (and still is) smoking hot.

Eh...

Temp agencies are probably the one place I haven't tried yet. Tomorrow, I'm going to give it a shot. I've got no idea how I choose one - there's got to be at least a few in the Metro Detroit area - but I'm not sure if that matters.

Why didn't that occur to me earlier?

Depends on the color of the water and what's filling it.

Water, like a swimming pool, and it's the normal clear blue.

Keep at it... you may even want to increase the scope of your search a little more... I've seen help wanted signs on stores down the Gratiot Corridor, a few hanging on places up and down grosbeck, and I think I've even noticed a few over on John R.

While there aren't nearly as many, I think if you keep at it, you'll turn up something.

Personally I think season 2 of Dark Angel was the zenith of her hotness, but the show just was so awful. :bomb:

When the pool itself is, it is. ;) Though this pool has been closed for over a month now, and I'm wondering when they'll get it open again. Hopefully the kids don't take over it and turn it green again, that was just nasty as hell.

No, even then, the water should be clear, though appearing blue.
If it is blue, I'd be creeped out, as they'd probably filled it with outhouse sanitizer or that blue stuff they stick combs in in a barber shop.

This is looking to be one of my least favorite schedules ever. :bomb: The Physics class I was looking forward to taking is gone, so now I'm forced to switch to Terrestrial and Speculative Biology at 4:30 - 5:20 PM. The Computer Hardware Elements class I need to take only had times for 2 of the 3 classes, so I took the more appealing of 7:30-8:20 or 9:20 PM. The WWII class was the only one at the most appealing time at 12:30 - 1:20 PM. Luckily the game classes added a few better classes as Simulation Game Design appeared, though at the worst time ever of 5:30 - 6:20 PM. The bright light in this is that besides Tuesday and Thursday, I don't have a time that I have to get up :D with the first classes at 4:30 - 6: 20 PM. :bomb: The computer hardware and WWII classes are Tuesday/Thursday and the other two are Monday/Wednesday/Friday with the game class not on Monday.
But... water isn't blue. :)
Not normally, no. I was more expecting a shade of green or something leaning towards the yellow.

Had someone not name-changed it, I would've let it go untouched to 500. I couldn't let it go with that name and changed it back somewhat when closed.

Oh well, I'm a bad bad man for locking it.

No applause necessary. Just another bright spot or black mark on my record of closing threads, depending on who you ask.

Which reminds me, it's time for new winshield wipers.

I don't believe the water is actually blue, but that's how it looks. You'd be creeped out when the water was almost a solid green like this after a dozen or so kids were in there the day before memorial day:
