no its included in pretty much all netflix plans. its pretty comparable to having hbo or starz on demand with your cable. its pretty much old movies and they have a pretty limited selection.

limited selection my ass.... take a look again and their is a shit ton out there. Almost all of my favorite TV shows on instant view makes it an amazing 'extra' to my plan.

Yeah, I never get the gripes about limited selection. Maybe limited if you don't watch anything but hollywood new releases.

But outside of those, there are thousands of movies from a year or so older, foreign films, indie films, documentaries a shit ton of TV series etc. etc.

actually i dont watch new hollywood movies and enjoy indie and smaller movies like the life aquatic, rushmore and i heart huckabees. all the indie movies on there seems like they are just bad indie movies.

if you dig around netflix.com, you can find some awesome stuff to put on your queue. right now Im watching a doc on how the bloods and crips got started, which has been really interesting and of good quality. forrest wittaker(sic) is the narrator.

I like all the movies you pointed out (Huckabees is a personal favorite). I dig most genres: comedy, action, drama, horror, animated, etc... I like big budget hollywood movies, no budget indies and any budget foreign films. Not counting the saved portions of my queues, I have 297 titles in my dvd queue of which 83 (~28%) are available for streaming. The percentage of my queue available for streaming seems to be going up most of the time. Regardless, 83 titles would take me a long time to work through.

Some indies I've watched via netflix streaming:

 • Teeth (popularized the term "vagina dentata")
 • Fido (zombies as pets plus a smoking hot Carrie-Ann Moss)
 • The Specials (I didn't like it but this no-action super heroes movie has a number of fans)
I don't know what "The Machine Girl" would count as other than foreign but it's a must for fans of over-the-top violence. It doesn't have much to recommend it other than the crazy action scenes. Look, the girl gets a home-made gatling gun for an arm. At one point, someone sports a chainsaw leg. What more do you want?

Netflix via 360 is the greatest. I think the selection of movies is fantastic, and I have watched many movies (good ones) based off of their recommendations. Menu is easy to navigate too.

Really? Pretty much every indie movie I'm interested in seeing (i.e. read reviews but didn't see it at the local art theater etc.) ends up on the instant watch 6 months to a year after the DVD is out in my experience.

To each their own I guess. I've always had over 100 titles on my instant watch queue, and I'm not that active in researching things to add on there.

My favorite xbox 360 netflix activity: watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 with a party, and seeing if we can one-up Mike Nelson (or Joel), Crow, & Tom Servo. (I don't think enough people are aware of or utilize the party system to watch movies together)

I don't get how to make the party thing work for movies...

Also, Tokyo Gore Police is the movie before Machine Girl and features the craziest ending of any Japanese Gore film I've ever seen...

I've not done it, but it's pretty simple. You just host a party, pick a movie and watch. Can chat over the head set while watching etc.

Not for me as I don't want to talk to people while watching movies.

There are tons of horrible movies on netflix streaming that never got the MST3K treatment. Pretty much every Troma movie is on there. Actually, just go through the horror category and pick out titles that have 2 or less stars.

I need to watch that, it's been in my queues a while.

I'm just really surprised at how many folks here actually use netflix. I honestly thought no one was really using the service (never thought about wanting it myself (prefer getting stuff via torrents)).

Some of us have morals and only get content through legal channels.

Heheh....if I had any morals about tv shows and movies I'd never get to see anything (Only so much $$ to go around).

Still, very surprised so many use it.

$9 a month will get you a hell of a lot of content, dude. Netflix instant streaming is amazing. Even if you remove the TV seasons I have in my Instant Queue, there's over 200 things I've thrown in there :x Totally random stuff that looks neat (like Mongol), classics old films, some newer stuff, documentaries...yeah.

To the OP, I think it was answered, but if you have the Netflix plan and XBL Gold, there is no additional cost. Isn't that amazing?

Yeah i use netflix all the time. Anime for physical discs and TV shows, Indie movies, etc w/ streaming. Yesterday I was watching some Man V Food on it

Netflix is $9 bucks a month ($11 if you want blu ray disc access) for one disc out at a time and unlimited streaming and with that you can see any movie or tv show you wanted.

Times are tight for many, but $9-11 bucks a month is pocket change for most anyone.

Add me to the club. There is a ton of great content. Not a lot of new releases, but there are some. But tons and tons of great tv series and tons of quality movies. In the 360 Netflix app, there are even pages of recent additions to the service, and you can add them to your queue or watch right way if you find something interesting.

internet is slow here so the movies get interupted a lot, thanks for all the help. i saw street theif in the indie section, if you havn't seen that i suggest giving it a look. tons of comedy central presents and dave chappelle which is good. i'm liking it!

Meh...that's $9 I don't have, pocket change to me is fifty cents, not $9. And why pay for what I already get for free? Indie films/documentaries/anime are not my thing anyway. And movies/tv shows I just already get via torrent and watch on my 360 anyway (or burn to dvd and get to keep hard copy of it), that's why I'm so surprised so many are paying for it.

We all know that BitTorrent exists. You're not amazing because you use it, and you're not amazing because you're on a moral high-horse and don't use it.

if you cant afford 9 bucks a month maybe you should do something productive instead of downloading and watching movies.

just be careful with your bandwidth usage.

A lot of ISP's cap their customers at a certain monthly bandwidth (250 GB?). I'm under the impression that every 1-hour of HD content is 1 GB (streaming via Netflix).

If you're home all day watching Netflix or downloading other content, then you might have to be careful... otherwise for the average person, it shouldn't be a cause for concern.
And why pay for what I already get for free?
I suppose you shoplift as well? Why pay for food, clothing etc. when you can get it free?

Serious moral fail. Ignore list +1.

huge fan of netflix, been a member for more then 3 years now. we dumped the dish cause we hated paying $80 a month for tv we hardly had time to watch (2 kids will do that :). definlately miss the dvr but saving almost $900 a yr with netflix. still get to watch all my shows (dexter, weeds, breaking bad, burn notice) and got to watch a bunch i never got around to watching while they were out (sopranoes, the wire, six feet under)

Mongol is pretty good.

Did any of you get a message from "SmokE SniPeD U"? He messaged me on Live the other day. Messages from me are not exact quotes since those aren't saved wheer I can see them, but that doesn't much matter:
hey can u let me get on your netflix plz? mom is acting crazy and won't buy it for me

I have no idea who you are.

i know but i just saw your post on some gaming website and thought i would give it a try because i haven't had luck elsewhere

And what site was that? (I pretty much knew the answer already.)

cheap ass gamers.com was the site
*16 minutes later*
so will you?
*literally 1 minute later (I wasn't even online)*
so will u let me get on ur netflix?
So yeah... wow. For all the wonderful people on this site, there certainly are a ton of lurkers who try to pull shit like this and take without giving anything. Taking codes people post without posting to say they took them and thanking the poster, or asking for a 48 hour XBL code is one thing. But this... *shakes head*. I just figured I wasn't the only one he contacted.
