There is a rumor going around that NetFlix may lower prices now that competition is heating up. Amazon is said to start a similiar service along with the already going BlockBuster DVD rental service.

I for one hope they lower prices. I'm paying $15.99 at BB for 6-moths, but the selection seems to be not as good as NetFlix, but it does have some advantages. I think when my 6-months are up at BB I MIGHT go back to Netflix

www.bensbargains.net reported this....among other sources.

Netflix has the best selection, and their delivery times are extremely fast, now that they got the multiple distribution system up and running. They also restructured so they somehow pull damaged discs out of circulation. This never was a real problem with Netflix (I've been with them, off and on, for probably around 6-8 months, and only received two cracked discs), and, since their restructuring, haven't received any. They also have a lot of foreign and independent films that video stores don't have. If you're into these types of films, Netflix is your only option.

On the contrary, as I mentioned before, GreenCine has better selection than NetFlix, particularly in obscure stuff like foreign and independent films. While I mostly rent anime from them, I also got Shaolin Soccer (before its US release) and Hero from them.

Yes, but Greencine ships from San Fran. If you live on the eastcoast, like I do, it's not worth it, even if they do have Eraserhead.

my netflix is going down to $17.99 and the turn around time is great. I mail out on monday and have new ones on wednesday. I tried bb and i would send out on monday and I wouldnt get new ones till thursday.

I'm still torn between the 2 service. Netflix does seem to ge faster SOMETIMES...although BB has a good turnaround time for me too. The one MAIN reason I'm sticking with BB, well two, 1 is it's $16/month for 6-months for me, and TWO, they have all the new re-releases and superbits and different editions of movies that NetFlix fails to carry. Possibly after my 6-months, we will see where I go next.
