Netgear Wireless Router for $2.50

I would not buy this. I got the same router in a deal, and the router ended up dropping wireless signals constantly shortly after I got it and then ended up dropping WIRED signals eventually. POS

Funny, my brother does broadband support at Verizon and remarked on the phone earlier that he's getting a lot of problem Linksys units lately.

I've used just about every big brand out there and some not so big brands. They pretty much all worked fairly well. The defining difference was in firmware features. Keep in mind that nearly all consumer router get their chipsets from two sources. Two randomly picked routers of the same spec off a store shelf stand a very good chance of having come out of the same Mitac manufacturing plant with the only differences being cosmetic and the aforementioned firmware. Even the firmware will share the bulk of its code since both are based on the same generic version provided by the OEM.

I've been using the Netgear WGR614 V4 for over a year now, and it's worked very well for me. It's done everything I'd expect a router to do, and hasn't given me any cause for complaint.

I got a Netgear wirelessG and so far it has worked great

not a drop yet

before that I had a D-Link wirelessB and it wasn't so hot

so really it is like playing the lottery in picking a brand
