Networking question

I've been using my OG Xbox wirless adapter (MN-740) to connect to my 360 or blu-ray player. It's been a minor nuisance having to swap cables & recently got a free ethernet switch.

I wanna go bridge>>>switch>>>360&BDP but I cannot get an internet connection. What am I missing/doing wrong? It is a working switch, not a hub & both devices work when connected to the MN-740.

Either,

a - dead switch, (most likely problem)

b - there's an "uplink" port you need to plug into the router (instead of the regular switch ports)

c - you need a crossover cable (ethernet but the wires are crossed different inside) to go router -> switch (highly doubtful unless it's a really old switch)

a - switch is good

b - mn-740 is connected to uplink port

c - didn't try a crossover cable, I'll give it a shot when I get home.
