Never recieved item, filed a dispute, now seller is threatening me with a negative.
Yeah that is correct, if you do not escalate the dispute and say you want to stop communication with the seller within 20 days, the dispute will close and the buyer loses automatically.

I gave a seller I think 18 days out of the 20 (and did not get a response) until I escalated the dispute. I think it then took about 3 or 4 days before Paypal said I won the dispute (but could not recover any funds from the seller)
So because they couldn't recover funds they just dropped it? They didnt further try to extract the money from the seller?

Dont put up with that shit, and definitely dont give them your money. Five dollars is nearly worthless in the grand sense of things, but its wrong to just let them run you over for anything regardless of the amount. Get your money back and try as hard as you can to get them removed from ebay. This stuff drives me nuts, had similar crap happen to me in the past.

I'm pretty sure the person they are trying to take money from has a negative ammount in his paypal, if he ever wants to use it again he will have to fill it up with money, and when he does it will go to the people that have open disputes with him.

I'm not sure what i would do in your position op, but he really deserves that negative, and it sucks to let him push you around like that, i say neg him, if he gets enough negs they will pull his powerseller status :D

this is the end of the dispute for me, i'm going to file the claim and leave the idiot the negative that s/he craves.

It seems to me like your goal is to screw around with me for the fun of it, with the way you've treated me. I can't rightly see how you can think I am insulting you, It really is telling, though, that you call 3 other buyers 'jerks', yeah all of your buyers are jerks when they mysteriously don't get their merchandise and want their money back. If you really wanted to clear this up you would have refunded the money instead of dancing around it, now wouldn't you have? I would hardly call negating eBay & pay pal policy 'FAIR PLAY'. By the way, I could care less how much you sell, any idiot can sell things on eBay, but it takes a truly vile person such as yourself to show this kind of contempt towards your buyers. Grow up.

well, like I said, if you think my goal is to take all this effort to rip you off for your $5 payment then you go right ahead the way you're going, keep spouting your paypal recommendations and insulting me and maybe you can share your negative with paypal. This is such a low priced item that I'm going to stop carrying them, it's just not worth it. I had over $14,000 in sales the last month, but yeah, you go ahead and worry about that $5 that I would have to keep and I wouldn't want to refund to clear this up. I really don't want you to drop it - I want to give you a negative for all this trouble you've caused, but I believe in fair play and that's why I gave you an out where you could get your money back without getting the negative, if you don't want to take it I don't care!!! I love giving people their first neg when they bug me, and you're about to find out how ebay really works with that.

That opens me up to not receiving the refund and getting that negative as well... What other incentive is there for wanting the dispute closed before refunding the payment, or reshipping the item?

if the dispute is dropped I will agree to reship it with delivery confirmation or refund the payment, your choice.

The crappy part is that ebay is probably not going to lift a finger on my FB extortion claim, but that is CLEARLY a method of extortion, to get me to close the pay pal dispute for whatever reason. This infuriates me how childish this person is.

You should use the feedback system for what it's intended to be - a warning system for other eBay users.

Don't back down just because some bully is threatening you with a little red mark and some asshole comment. Leave him a negative with just the facts so other people won't go through the same thing you did. Do it ASAP if he's got other items up now.

I just did, I wasn't able to fit much info in but if he responds to the feedback I should be able to add a bit more in a followup, would have loved to have more room to elaborate though.

And that there is the problem with eBay's feedback system... there just isn't enough room to prove/disprove anything. I should think when leaving a negative, you should have more room for your feedback to supply more info for your case.

Great feedback, calm and factual. Let's hope he responds to it, and calls more attention to it while at the same time making himself look like an ass. I hate to leave neg, and have only left 2, but this one seller, i had bought 5 purses for my sister. They didn't get here in 2 months, i asked if she could refund me, and i would give her the money back as soon as the purses showed, she declined. So i had 5 feedbacks to give her, i left the first one, waited until it was off the first page, left another one, and i still have 3 more to leave. That's what they deserve for offering such shitty customer service. :bouncy:

I wouldn't worry about it too much...I think the FB you left was handled really well (and the seller's FB makes him come off as a real jerk).

yeah, not worried about it so much, i think most buyers will see through it... I just wish that this is what ebay would do to sellers like this.
