Neverwinter Nights 2 (PC-DVD) $35 shipped at Amazon

yeah its a pretty boring game, story didn't interest me and the battling system was over done in previous games made by the developer(KOTOR, NW1)

also if you want, you can get this game for ~46 at buy.com, add in some cheap filler to bring it to 50 and use google checkout, you'll prolly end up paying $35 with shipping, but you get extra filler.

I disagree. NWN2 has a passable story, pathetic camera system, but complex leveling system. It probably has the most complex leveling system of any crpg ever created. If you prefer American style RPG's, get it. If you prefer the child focus of Japanese RPG's, pass on it. This game is definately a keeper for me.

NWN2 is a great game, great story, great NPC's, great gameplay, and lots of ways to finish quests....

...despite the technical performance issues. That's my biggest complaint w/ the game. The game really needs a performance tweak. I had to turn down a bunch of graphical bells, to get it running well on my strong PC. Oblivion runs and looks much better than NWN2 on this rig -- which was a surprise to me. NWN2 looks quite good, regardless -- but not *good* enough to warrant such a framerate and performance issues.

The cameras ain't that great --- I don't like Chase Cam. Free Cam is okay -- a lot similar to cam in BG2. The other cam is good, I think it's called Direct Cam, if you want to keep it always behind you -- a la the SW: KOTOR cam style.

Though, I really do like the Top Down Cam, which I do move around a lot like I did in NWN1 w/ the cam unlocked and all. This cam doesn't bother me, b/c it moves the way I want it, when I want to move it. It doesn't try to correct itself or anything. It moves as I see fit.

I'm playing with the beta patch of 1.03 and I'm having a blast. Even after the game's over, the upcoming user-created content should keep it fun for years to come.

If you couldn't pick this up at Best Buy for $25 on Black Friday this sounds like the next best thing.

i find nwn2 fun. i haven't played too much (waiting for my other friends to get it so we can play coop) but so far, i like the story & the characters have much more personality than nwn1's henchmen.
if you get past nwn2's annoyances (occasional stupid AI, pathfinding, etc), the game is fun. more true to D&D than nwn1.

Yeah, the technical issues w/ NWN2 are minor, though.

I have yet to play it online, myself. I intend to.

NWN2: Original Campaign, so far, is very good.
