I just heard about this series about a week ago and finally got around to watching the first episode. If you haven't heard about "Masters of Horror", it's an anthology series where each week a celebrated horror director (well mostly celebrated directors ;) ) unveils a new 50-minute horror film. Here's the list of directors:

Don Coscarelli ("Phantasm," "Bubba Ho-Tep")
Stuart Gordon ("Re-Animator," "Dagon")
Tobe Hooper ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Poltergeist")
Dario Argento ("Suspiria," "Terror at The Opera")
Mick Garris ("Riding the Bullet," "The Stand")
Joe Dante ("The Howling," "Gremlins")
John Landis ("An American Werewolf in London")
John Carpenter ("Halloween," "The Thing")
William Malone ("House on Haunted Hill," "FearDotCom")
John McNaughton ("Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer," "Wild Things")
Takashi Miike ("Audition," "Ichi," "The Killer")
Larry Cohen ("It's Alive," "The Invaders")
Lucky McKee ("May," "The Woods")

Since it's on Showtime, they can pretty much do whatever the fuck they want. The first short film by Coscarelli was awesome, it had a bit of the same structure as an episode of Lost. If any of you have Showtime, or know how to acquire episodes of shows through more...unscrupulous means, then you should check it out. :D
