This should come as no surprise as they continue to inch closer to killing off a good franchise with oversaturation. My guess is this will be the last AC on PS3/X360 & hopefully there will be a 2 - 2 1/2 yr gap between the PS4/720 game. A PSVita title would work to keep money rolling in I guess.

I've played every AC and each one has been fun and well made; If they can continue to put them out every year and still have them be good games than I'll buy them. I also like the historical aspects of AC because very few games have that.
I'll take yearly Assassin's Creeds. I love the hell out of that series.
Likewise. The story is fun - I'm actually wondering where it's going - and it's just fun. Put more into ac:b's multiplayer than pretty much any multiplayer in the past couple years (although in fairness a fair amount of that was just trying to get the stupid variety achievement).

The series needs a break. Yeah yeah of course they're fun and of course gameplay-wise each one is better than the last but like the OP says the yearly sequels are getting to be too much. From what I can tell they never told us they had an "Ezio Trilogy" planned until they announced Revelations... it feels like they've been stalling these past two years.

Like I said the games are still fun, I just feel that it's a bad habit: one day everyone's in love with a game, then they churn out constant sequels because people will keep buying them year after year and before you know it everyone's talking like the series went awry when really they just grew tired of the over-saturated series

seriously? Revelations isn't even out yet and they're already talking about making a new game in a year?

as fun as annual Assassin's Creeds sounds, i can't help but feel as if they're taking the easy way out by releasing what is essentially the same game with minor tweaks in gameplay here and there. sure, the story evolves, but at the same time, the game should evolve as well. in this case, the evolution is slow to nonexistent.

Their current strategy makes it too easy for the franchise to get lazy & if 1 of their titles slips saleswise you could then see the end of the franchise for much longer than 2 1/2 yrs.

Just look at batman AC; there's going to be a sequel but it sure as hell won't be in 2012 most likely the delay will make it the one of the 1st 5 next get AAA smash titles(5-7 million sold) & they can use the larger sales figures to warrant larger budgets/staff to make sure the franchises stays strong for yrs to come along with innovation.

Be careful of what you wish for look at all the AAA top selling franchises Sony use to have that aren't nearly what they once were
1-Twisted Metal
2-DmC
3-Crash Bandacoot
4-Tomb Raider

I'd replace DmC with Spyro, I get that everyone's mad about the remake but DMC4 was the highest selling game in the series. Spyro however: four games in four years on the PS1, and with the exception of Skylanders the series never quite bounced back from its initial interest.

This seems to be something I see more of lately. THQ is already talking about Saints Row 4, and there have been more than a few other devs that have gone on to talk about the future of their series either before or just days after the latest title came out. I mean, it's certainly not surprising that they're already thinking about the next game, it's just new to hear them talk about it to the public... I guess it's something the stockholders like to hear but personally I don't really like knowing that they are already setting out to trump the game I just bought or am about to buy.
