My local sears refuse to accept coupons. CC was out. =[ end up buying it on amazon for that Wall-e deal. Price match that and got 9.98 back.
I don't understand that last part... you had amazon PM sears or something?

So yesterday I finally decided to get out and try to get this deal (the last day of the ad!). I worked up my story before-hand (my family bought the dvd version, got a redemption code for the $10 off BD but don't have a BD player, gave it to me, I entered it into disney's site and they emailed the coupon to me to print out (of course I didn't open with this, but by just saying 'Disney emailed me this coupon', it stopped a lot of questions right there. I actually didn't need much more than that, but thought a good story was a good idea).

Stopped by Sears and the lady couldn't get the coupon to scan, and so no go there. Hunted for an ad to PM at another store, couldn't find one. Asked one employee and he said they just had an ad for a 3-day sale this weekend; another employee cut in and asked what I needed and so I said "An ad that shows the current dvd deals".

About 5 minutes later the dude comes back with the circular saying they don't have one for dvd, just HD. Guess I shouldn't have used the wrong terminology; he took me too literally. Oh well, got my ad, moved on to wal-mart.

This was GREAT. I get to walmart and see this guy with longish hair behind the media center counter. Guy looks like a douch and I figure he'll shoot me down (was figuring I'd get a 'can't PM and use coupon excuse'), but there wasn't anyone that looked any easier to work this on around, so I approached the counter, gave him the ad and the coupon, and got this as a response:

"We can't price-match ads that are for items on sale, only for items that are normally priced". :bomb:

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this basically defeat the purpose of a PM? I mean, what stores put out circular ads for items that are that same price all the time? We see it sometimes with things like the NDS, but it's still in a circular ad and it's not going to say next to it, "This is the price it always is, so come in at any time!" The ads are supposed to be sale prices to get people into the store.

So I had him call his manager, and he says, "If I can't do both the coupon and the PM, which would you prefer?"

Seriously? If I'm choosing one, let's see, $20 for the PM or $10 off of the $25 you have it advertised at to make $15... tough choice! I just told him I wanted them both or not at all. So he got the go-ahead to PM :)roll:), but then he couldn't get the coupon to work. The guy behind me started saying, "It looks like a fraudulent coupon, like he just printed it out" (mind you, I had explained already that Disney had 'emailed' the coupon to me). Luckily this didn't really raise any flags, but at this point it didn't matter since he couldn't get the coupon to work. So I start to leave, and the guy wants to keep my ad saying he 'has to show management' - uh, no. Not when I didn't even buy anything. As I was leaving, I heard the guy behind me asking about getting the movie for the $20 that Sears had it advertised as.

I went home to rethink my strategy; obviously, this coupon was not scanning. I resized it a bit (it was apparently too small - rookie mistake), and printed it, heading out to CC next.

CC must have gotten all of one copy of Caspian since there were none there when I got there, even though it was priced at something like $28, the second highest next to TRU. Dissapointed, I went out to my final stop, best buy.

I searched for the movie a bit, finally found it, and checked on the guides (I think some penny guides are still there even after they reformatted the store a bunch!), and went up to the counter. Got a pretty blond girl, who then gave me the same answer I usually get at BB: "Can't PM and use coupon" (nevermind that they are supposed to get the money back from Disney, if I understand the fine print correctly). But after a second she starts to try to scan the coupon (without product?); tries a few times. Then scans the movie, calls up a manager and gets a price over-ride to $20, and then asks the manager about the coupon. The manager allowed her to enter it as just a -10! I got the freaking movie, finally! Guess where my next TV is coming from :D

Worst part is though, I want this to be a surprise present for my g/f, but only thought of that AFTER I had told her all about the coupon and stuff (I get way too excited over this stuff). So when I got home, I had to act disappointed and angry about not getting the deal. And then she started saying, "well, how much is the DVD?" and "$20 isn't bad for the BD, let's go back to Sears to get it". I had to just say that I'm sure we'll see a better deal than $20 at some point, and I can't spend that much when I know it's been lower. Hopefully she bought it and doesn't go, er, buy it.

Long post, I know, but an eventful day.

I've ordered Wall-e on Amazon. Amazon current has a deal where if you buy Narnia 3 disc and Wall-e 3 disc, it's only 39 total. So since I already own Wall-e from Amazon, I price matched the new price on Amazon.
Sorry for the confusion.

Oh I see, makes more sense now. I was hoping amazon decided to allow PMing other stores ads online :D (Although they pretty much do that already, all on their own).

Same here. the coupon would not scan... probably my printer.
So. It's still $17.99 in Fry's. I think today's the last day.
The nearest frys to me is about 2 1/2 hours away - Target would be much easier to use the coupon at or PM for me, and I know others are in the same boat. If I hadn't gotten the BD by PMing Sears, I'd be trying with Target.
