Starting Nov. 2nd BBOnline will change in a very awesome way.

You will now be able to drop off movies sent to your door at any local Blockbuster instead of mailing it in. Once BB checks them in (right in front of you might I add), you're online quene will be updated and you're next movie will be sent out. However, it gets better. You will be able to get ANY movie in the store right then and there for FREE. So what it means is you are essentially getting two-three times more of rentals each month!

Stores will also be receiving laptops to allow new members to join BBOnline and even cancel their NetFlix account.

To summarize:
1. Return BBOnline movie inside Envelope mailer to any BB location.
2. You're online quene gets updated and you're next movie is sent out.
3. You get a free rental in store right away as an extra bonus for dropping off you're movie.

Well, basically this is the exact same as Netflix, except you have the hassle of going to the store to return all the movies and get more. I'm switching back honestly.

Why? It seems like less work to me. All you do is scan the movies the person returns, and then scan the movies they want to rent. It's like a one minute process.
Why is it a hassle? Seemed easy enough for the employee when I did it. She RAVED about the program. Is it just employees being lazy?
Well the actual process is pretty easy, but i have to drive to the post office 15 minutes away every day now because of it lol.
Well the actual process is pretty easy, but i have to drive to the post office 15 minutes away every day now because of it lol.
And, I'm sure they pay you for time and gas.....doesn't someone pick up mail at Blockbuster? That just seems odd. I know the one by me has a dropbox right outside the store.

Well after nothing being shipped for about 3 days, now i have 8! dvds in my shipped list (not even counting the ones i returned in store). My account is only for 5 out at a time...

Keeps getting wierder and weirder. Though 4 of the dvds are My Name is Earl Season 1 Discs 1-4, so maybe since theyre part of the same set they consider them one title? *shrugs*
Right now I have FOUR movies shipped in a 3 plan....I think they got confused with the in-store thing :)
From the latest BBO email:

"Queue Updates: Returned movies stay in the shipped section of your Queue until the DVD is physically received at our distribution center. This may take one to two days after you return the movie at your local store, but your next available movie will already have been shipped."

"Your Queue may show more movies shipped than your plan allows. For example, you may have a 3-out plan and show 4 movies shipped."

well i think this is total BS

this all happened sunday and just got back now and wanted to post this!!!!

went to the store and hand the worker 3 movies so i should get 3 movies shipped today. I went into my blockbuster account and only noticed 1 movie shipped today. So i called them and I was told that

ONLY 1 movie was reported in. I told them that i returned all 3 movies and they gave me this total BS about only 1 movie was return and i had to go to the store. I went to the store and they are giving this total BS about they cant tell me how many movies i have checked in (since they can only show how many was rented out)

i get back and call the line again and was told that until those movies show up I will not get nothing and please allow up to 2 weeks before checking back

so i guess im paying 18 bucks per month for 1 movie at a time now

total BS . the worker probally pocketed the other movies

They SCAN the movies right in front of you. If they did that, they should be in the system. I still think BB is updating the system. I know some of mine did not clear INSTANTLY, but they did the next day. JUST WAIT. The website has been a mess lately too....they said they are upgrading that also.

they did scan them but for some reason the computer kept beeping. the chic just looked at the screen and tossed the movies to the side. Smacks self in head, i wonder if the recept could prove that i returned 3 movies since it shows

3.69 movie then a coupon for 3.69 and since they only allow 1 coupon to be used at a time the only thing it could be in online movies returned.

Guess im going to have to hit them back up tomorrow and see. Lucky that the blockbuster is right next to a gamecrazy so i can kill 2 birds with one stone : )

yea the webpage is a major mess. After adding 2 movies the system just freezes up and i need to open up a new window.

I could be wrong but wouldnt the same thing happen (3 free movies) if she scanned the same movie 3 times? U sure she didnt do that?

Well, I currently have FOUR movies out and in possession now....kinda weird. I know they said your Queue can fluctuate, but I have 2 at my house (will return tomorrow). and 2 more shipped. I'm on a 3 out program :)

I'll do 2 in-store tomorrow and see if it works fine.

This thing is killing the business!!!! I've got stores down 21% to prior years TNR!!!!! However if I average 25 a week, the company will double my bonus!!!! So please help me out. Use this code 02527B and have all your friends sign up. Sidenote we do get PS3 and Wii before street so you should be kind.

All the stores get PS3 and Wii's before street... you still can't sell them until street date

Also, I can tell someone gets a bonus by doing this... anytime I bring up the topic I get handed a new sheet with a code. I am still undecided on leaving Netflix.

i find this interesting.

if you got a mailer you got a movie e coupon and if you dont you still get at least one movie e coupon each month just in case

now the worker in the store weeks ago told me they were going to 1 coupon per month but how this sounds that we will still get a coupon each week if your getting the coupon each week now.

if this is the case i would be getting 28 movies per month for 18 bucks (cheaper if they give you a discount price when you try to quit)

4 movies per week instore and 3 movies per week via mail

What a weird program.

First of all, I get all of my DVDs in the mail with one day splits. For example, I might get my next ones on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Next, I returned my mail DVDs to Blockbuster four days ago, and my que has still not updated.

This really isn't worth it IMO, Netflix seems to have their act together.
This Total Access thing is amazing. I have more DVDs than I know what to do with. You simply can't watch them fast enough.
Indeed, I can't watch movies fast enough now. I may have to cancel just to get my life back. I average 6 disks a week now (twice what I had before) and those are mostly tv series dvds, so lots of things to watch.

i wonder how many will drop movie channels on cable now that they have all of these movies to watch. I know i dropped down from a 3 movie teir system on my cable to basic cable.
First of all, I get all of my DVDs in the mail with one day splits. For example, I might get my next ones on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Well are you returning them in one day splits? If I return my movies at the same time I always get them back at the same time. If that is not happening, then some of your movies may be shipping from a different location than others.
Next, I returned my mail DVDs to Blockbuster four days ago, and my que has still not updated.
Your queue is slow to update. That is normal. That doesn't mean your movies haven't shipped out.
This really isn't worth it IMO, Netflix seems to have their act together.
I'd like to see someone try and make a valid argument on how Total Access isn't worth it, but I don't think it's possible. Really, you get more movies then you could ever have time to watch. I'm constantly either receiving movies in the mail or bringing new ones back from Blockbuster. It's crazy.
if you got a mailer you got a movie e coupon and if you dont you still get at least one movie e coupon each month just in case
Your mailer IS your ecoupon. That is what they are saying.

Yup, I cannot watch them fast enough either.
Trying to max out my free month and see how many I can get.

Cannot see this last for long as the stores are getting raped.
I've been instore 4 times and only used my free rentals.

sounds like to me they will still keep up the 4 E coupons per month as well.

Says IF YOU DONT HAVE A MOVIE you will still get AT LEAST 1 coupon each month.

I love this new program, and all those in-store movies were just sitting here anyway, good way to add value to the online service.

Keep it up Blockbuster!!! Thanks!

It says "at least" because select people like me get two movie and video game ecoupons a month (because I am an original charter member of BBO). Everyone else gets 1 ecoupon a month now (movie rentals only), AFAIK. You don't need more (and won't get more), since your mailers are basically ecoupons.

LOL i called them back up today and they said there was a problem sending out the movies so they gave me 2 FREE E coupons

when i click the link it says

wee now i got to call them tomorrow and tell them the page is dead

Lmao, you should've seen the look on the girl's face when i brought up 7 movies to check out. Im loving it now that Blockbuster Online counts entire seasons as 1 disc. Maybe i should try out some of these 12 disc seasons and see if they count as one on the queue.

Huh? Does blockbuster.com ship out ENTIRE seasons now with 1 disc? I know I had Las Vegas ship, and I only got 1 disc.

I'm running out of things to rent...now, online is HD-DVD, and in-store is normal DVD's.
Im loving it now that Blockbuster Online counts entire seasons as 1 disc.
I'm going to have to guess that was a one-time error on BBO's part. Don't count on it happening again.

The only way it wouldn't be worth it, and that Netflix would be much better, is if you don't have a BBO near you [my parents, for instance; probably 40 miles from the nearest one], if the ones near you have crap for selection, or if you live too far away from a BBO distro center, but close to a NF.
I'm on a free month with NF now using a code that came with my HDDVD, but when it's over, I'm going to try BBO again. Probably drop down to the 1 or 2 movies out plan.
NF shipping is amazingly quick for me though, I get a disk turned around in like two days.

^ True. Both me and my parents have 2-3 locations very close to where we live. Still, the closest location to my place has one of the biggest selections of any Blockbuster I've seen (and they get a ton of business), while the closest Blockbuster to my parents house has a horrible selection and it is rarely worth stepping into that store.

nice thing here is that theres is a blockbuster on the way home from classes or home from dropping someone off or parents running.

Sunday-- go to graveyard so go pass a blockbuster every week
Monday--- go past a blockbuster on the way to work
Tuesday -- go past a blockbuster on the way back from class
Weds--- no blockbuster
Thursday-- go past a blockbuster on the way back from class
Friday--- go past a blockbuster on the way back from taking cousin to work
Saturday---- no blockbuster

so 5 out of 7 days im going past a blockbuster. and those 2 days im not the blockbuster is only around 10 miles around trip.

Blockbuster.com seems to be a bit slower lately....I used to receive my DVD's the next day 90% of the time, now it's been like 2-3 days. Also, they have lost TWO DVD's in the past month...which could just be USPS issues.

Maybe HD-DVD's take longer for some reason ;)

Yea, the postal carriers gotta finish watching em first ;-).

funny is that might sound that has happened in the past. when i joined in decd 2004 for the first time i started getting movies that were ripped open and taped shut. about every 7 or 8th movie was like this like they were trying to make it look like a machine ripped them open. About 2 months later you never seen the dude again (guess their fired him)
I used to receive my DVD's the next day 90% of the time, now it's been like 2-3 days.
I've been a member for nearly two years now and I've never received movies next day. It's always been about 5-7 days for me (mostly the fault of the postal service, as the nearest Blockbuster distribution center is only two hours away from where I live).

well i went to cancell and got the

STAY WITH US SCREEN

I picked the 3 at a time plan for 6 months for 15.99 (saving 2 per month)

could of picked

2 at a time plan for 3 months for 12.99

since i have tons of free hollywood video coupons i could make it up using those to make up the 3rd movie i lost out on. BUT i still say the prices will go up and i thought might as well lock in 16 per month for 6 months to be on the safe side

i find something interesting though

I went in sunday and they said Each store gets like a buck for each movie they send back. If this is true then how the hell is blockbuster making money.

i get around 30 movies VIA mail per month that would be 30 bucks blockbuster is paying the store? I only pay 16 per month so where does the other 14 bucks come from.

the only thing i can think of is that RETURN STAMP but i dont think that it would cost that much ( i think bulk mail is like 27 cents per item)

I joined this last week and I really can't find anything worth while to rent. I've seen 98% of the theatrical releases in the past 4 years or so. I could only come up with 2 movies to put in my que. Shock Therepy and Who Killed the Electric Car?. Returned one and the only thing I could find at Blockbuster was Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior.

I don't do TV shows since I have enough to watch at home but anyone have some recomendations on what to rent from this???

^ Look for older titles. There are countless movies on BBO. I really doubt you have seen every movie in existence. Use the category browser bar at the top of the BBO page for recommendations.

(Unfortunately, it seems member reviews have been taken off of the site).

At Blockbuster stores of course you are going to have more trouble finding stuff to watch, but at BBO you shouldn't.

Sorry but I really can't find anything worth while. Their recommendations are terrible and movies I'd never watch. Hell, the recommendations are starting to fill with things I've already rated, which makes no sense.

I did add Boondock Saints but it's on a long wait wtf.....

I would cancel or reduce my account, but I STILL get two free GAME rental coupons, and I know as soon as I reduce my account....I'll lose that, which is basically -$16 for two game rentals :)

So, I keep it and deal with my 2 day shipping now...and lost movies.

you must hate movies if you can't find anything to watch, movie hater

I've seen everything they recommend to me unless it's something no one has heard of. Owning 1600 dvds and having worked in a video store and a movie theater, it's hard to find anything new. However, Netflix always seemed to recommend something new and interesting.

I'm the same way. I'm forced to be a member for life (and keep my same plan), otherwise I will lose my GAME rentals. Grr, Blockbuster is evil.

i just watched kurt and courtney, the documentary about the death of kurt cobain, i was truly astonished- they pretty much basically said that either courtney must have pulled the trigger or she drove him to it. They tracked down their nannie, their friends, the parents, the psycho that courtnet allegedly offered 50 grand to kill kurt, and many others.

Rent that, hopefully i didnt spoil too much.

if you cant do tv on dvd, i would suggest renting criterions as they are hard to come by cheaply and this is a decent way to watch them without having to buy. Tho if you really own 1600 dvds, then maybe you already have a complete criterion collection.

also you could try a crap load of foreg in films,if you dont mind subtitles. get the dario argento films like suspiria and two evil eyes.

there are loads of other foreign films that are classic that might not be readily available, films by traufout and godout(like the little thief, alphaville etc) i am probably spelling their names wrong. There are loads of other must see foreign dvds like the bicycle thief, and i vietellone (both italian films)
