New Dead Rising trailer (VERY NSFW) - fooooooooooooooooooore!

Looks like they somehow crossed the GTA engine with the RE4 engine.

Man those are some slow and dumb zombies. The screenshots were impressive, to see that many zombies on the screen at once.

My first though upon seeing just the screens were: Theres no way you could be alive 10 seconds with that many zombies.

Its like Zombies are made of Tofu now. I think the game will actually get old quick, unless you juts dont get tired of insane amounts of slaughter.
You know what that engine would be perfect for?

re-making Smash TV

someone is getting spoiler happy, i hardly think that was worth hiding, but just to be nice, i wont spoil it

In theory, football gets old quick, I mean, you just throw passes and score touchdowns, why keep doing that for game after game?

Who cares how long the game lasts or how easy it is to kill the zombies, if I can sit here and jump off walls and slash heads off with and umbrella, I'm in.

I disagree. Killing the zombies would get old if all you had was one weapon. Any good action game in the past year (God of War, Resident Evil 4, etc) would have sucked if there wasn't a variety of ways to kill your enemies.

Plus I've been waiting to see a game that delivered on the whole "you can have 5,000 different characters doing different things onscreen at once on the 360" claim I've heard since they announced the next-gen systems.

The first thing I thought when I saw "Dawn of the Dead" was how great it would be if they made a videogame like that. So I'm pretty hyped for this game.

Played Kameo? There's a hillside scene early on that's really crazy.

I'm still waiting for validity on the whole "make your own clothes/accessories for games like Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and sell them for marketplace points! Make custom maps and sell them!" thing.

Of course, but its not the focus of the game like it is in Dead Rising. Not only that, but I didn't actually fight all the characters - I mostly plowed through them with the horse to get to my next objective.

Wow that looks pretty fun. I wonder if it will have any live co-op zombie bashing? This could be the 360 game that I pull out just to aimlessly kill stuff, the same purpose GTA served when I bought the double pack.

Wonder when this will be released.

I would totally get a 360 for that, if reviews were favorable.

Been watching it for a long time, that new trailer is great.

wow, the game looks like a whole lot of fun. hope it has a 2 player mode.

all those zombies walking around with Servbot heads was great.

I love how "mindless violence + blood" = a "game" these days.

I mean honestly, you run around in the game and do this....forever? Until the end?

The only way your post could've been more pointless is if you smashed your head on the keyboard and typed out a bunch of random letters.

what can I say, fucking awesome. Hopefully they have some online modes, I would especially love a mode where the dead players come back as a zombie, perhaps having the ability to issue a few bare commands to a limited number of nearby zombies?
Did I see a lightsaber in there?
I think it's Zero's saber from the Mega Man games. So yes.

I recall video game journalists ragging the dogshit out of this title... I see nothing wrong with it.

Did anyone else see how fantastic the environments look, even with all those characters in them? Man, i never thought I'd want to play in a supermarket as much as I do now.

Wow, amazing. This game is looking incredible. I didn't notice any slowdown either during those videos, and you know Capcom still has a lot of time to work on it. It looks frickin' awesome, just mindless killing using anything that isn't bolted down. How sweet was the evil supermarket manager with the spiked cart chasing after you? Awesome. Who cares if the zombies aren't smart, they are just the colors you use to paint on your palette of destruction. That sounded dumb.

Well that and you do Quests. I so want this game now after watching it still tho!

They really should have just got it licensed and called it Dawn of the Dead. I don't mean that as an insult but it really seems to convey the gameplay that would be involved with a game based on Dawn of the Dead (old version). I can't wait for this game!

This new footage looks really impressive. Much more so than the first trailer for this game. Was that from X05 or E3? I can't remember anymore. Anyway, the graphics look pretty decent and the blood flow is high. In other words, I'll be buying this me thinks. Now release a new Powerstone game already Capcom!

Dead Rising looks like a very impressive tech demo, other than that im not sure if it will be a fun game.

It looks impressive but I hope there is more to it than just beating the crap out of zombies in a shopping mall. Also...its looks like it borrowed a little too much from the original Dawn of the Dead (as mentioned earlier).

I heard the Xbox was better at artificial intelligence than the PS3; This game certainly proves that. There are a shit load of zombies on the screen.

Acording to my local EB and gamestop this game does not exist. I was going to preorder it and buy it. That way when I get a 360 I would have a game. I called and asked about it they never heard of it. It looks awesome.

A little bad News, according to what I have read on the game, it will take about 3-4 hours to beat the game once. It's a bit of a sand box, open ended thing. You're a photojournalist curious about the outbreak of zombies. In 72 hours (not realtime obviously) a helicopter will be arrived to air lift you out. You will have a wrist watch counting down time until pick-up.

If you so choose, you can sit on your ass for 3 hours and wait for your ride (this will get you a bad ending), or you can do many sidequests to gain access to other sections of the small, rescue other survivors in the mall, and investigate the cause of the Zombie outbreak. Or you can just play around killing Zombies. Doing sidequests will also upgrade your abilities (those wall kicks and martial arts you saw in the trailer). There supposedly are other enemies than zombies, there are paranoid and irrational shop keepers and thugs (a la the motorcycle gang in the Original Dawn of the Dead)

Supposedly the focus of the game will be replayability, playing over and over for fun and to get the various endings. Though who knows, things may change between now and when the game is released.

How exactly does it do that? A bunch of enemies on screen doesn't mean the machine is good at AI. All those zombies could be complete idiots.

Well, I must say seeing that many enemies on screen looked very cool, but it didn't look like anything special to me. (Especially if the above 3-4 hours of playtime is true!)

Who the hell would play this game for the story? 2-4 hours of playtime, sure.. but do you know how many times you could replay this game? Condemned had a whopping 6 hours of playtime but i've replayed that game over and over and over and over.

Especially if they put a ton of achievemets in the game dependent on how well you explore the mall.

edit: darnit, why do I keep typing "small" instead of "mall"
