New Dell Streak. iPhone Killer?

Nothing is an iPhone killer. Those are the facts. Not till something comes out which surpases the iPhone in every category and makes no mention of the iPhone in it's ads. The streak is too damn big. I'm sure it's a nice piece of hardware but it is beyond what I would consider comfortable in my pocket and every android at this point should be shipping with froyo.

these phones are looking too similar to each other. mainly they are all copies of the iphone with a different brand name. someone needs to do something different and not copy the iphone. they aren't gonna surpass apple at their own game.

The term iPhone Killer seems so ridiculous to me. No one needs to kill the iPhone (i.e take over their market share), just compete sucessfully.

Samsung Captivate. It's on AT&T already and does damn near everything the i4 does except with a replaceable battery, expandable memory, and a bigger screen.

remove the bottom 2 screws, slide the cover off and the iphones battery pops right out.....everyone else needs to step up the pixel density on their screens..they may be bigger but the iphone's screen just looks fantastic

was going to say the Droid X was going to be a successful competitor but after getting some hands on with it my rooted droid running froyo w/ a custom theme kicks its @$$ so iPhone is still number 1...even though the reviewers are saying that apple needs verizon and verizon doesn't need the iphone

Doesn't really look that spectacular to me. I'm sure one day something will come along that is as good as the iPhone of it's time, possibly better, but I haven't seen it yet. I played with my sister's HTC Incredible the other day and while it was a very good phone with a lot of the same features of the iPhone 4, the battery life was less, the screen was clearly inferior, and the GUI was not yet on the level of the iPhone. Like Malik said, I think Apple really changed the game with the 'retina display'. With that dpi things just look so good on that screen. Forget all this 3-D crap, you want me to buy another HDTV, consumer electronic companys? Build one with the dpi of the iphone 4.

Yeah, my wife and I were talking about how great tv would look if our 55" Samsung had the same pixel density as the iphone. Shit would be great!
As much as I hate Apple and am a Dell stockholder, sadly, nothing will kill the iPhone.
Its just a matter of time. The bigger Apple gets...the more 'PC' problems they will have. In fact, its starting already...

The term "iPhone killer" was secretly created by Apple. It's in the same realm as "mid-major" to me. (For those who aren't aware of that term, mid-major is any team not in the Big 6 conferences in basketball. Even though some programs are more historic than "major" schools!!!!)

Think about it - every phone gets compared to the iPhone. And it's unfairly done. People then start nitpicking about the most minor things possible to ensure that the phone doesn't "kill" the iphone.

And I haven't read the thread, but I wouldn't doubt someone probably mentioned the fact that the apple store has 4 times as many apps...because that was the knock against many non-iphones for a while. Like that shit really matters....

Woah woah... NO Micro USB and you pull a CrApple with a proprietary connection.. ?? That alone makes this a fail. Obviously, Dell doesn't understand what consumers want. And they certainly aren't at the level where they can put out anything and say anything and people will blindly buy it.

TWSS

Is that a Streak on your pants or is that a phoner in ur pocket?

The only iPhone killer is AT&T's lack of an unlimited data plan for new customers. I know two people that were finally going to get an iPhone when the 4 came out, but AT&T stopped having unlimited data plans, and those two friends each got Android phones (Droid X, and EVO).

it seems the other carriers are thinking about following what AT&T has done and get rid of the unlimited plans as well

Mentions or not, I'd wager that the major wireless companies ditch unlimited within a year, two at most. I think most were just waiting for someone else to blink first.

Personally, I don't see the big deal, as it's really just a marketing tool for most people. It sounds like company speak, sure, but a very small percentage of users truly need 'unlimited' data. Once you take tethering out of the equation, that number gets even smaller. Just my stance on it.

Didn't realized that it will be that big of a phone. I wonder what the carrying case would look like?

.....ATT just did so....

Actually it looks like if you put it in your back pocket you could easily take stealth video out your ass as you walk. ;^)
