Ran across this article on ArsTechnica about a new DS color + bundled Brain Age 2:

As I believe I've stated before.... I've been holding out for the perfect DS Lite, but this one is tempting me. I just know as soon as I buy it, a slick purple or green one will be announced.
 
I wonder why they aren't also coming out with a solid red model? (There isn't a solid red model, right?)

This is sorta nice..and I am getting kinda.. meh with my white DS Lite. But I have no doubt in my mind that there will be more colors. Not just "special edition" kind either. Maybe, oh just MAYBE if these Brain Age 2 bundles appear on clearance one day for a decent price.. I'll pick it up.

But other then that.. green DS lite FTW!

I've said this SO many times before: Why can't they release the Gameboy Color lineup?! They were pretty hot! lol

Agreed. Until I see some pictures that convince me this is more than sticking two separately colored halves together, it doesn't seem very appealing.
 
Man, this color scheme is just ridiculously awesome. My girlfriend and I were oggling it last night. I'd never buy one, because we already have a fully-functional white DS Lite that we rarely play, but I really wish that this scheme had been available back then.
 
So is the stylus red.. or black? Hmmm :whistle2:k?

edit: :rofl: at me.. the picture CLEARLY shows a black stylus. NEVERMIND!

Personally I'd prefer a red stylus!
 
Will this come with a full retail box for brain age 2, or another one of those stupid cardboard sleeves for the game. (like my Mario Kart)

Nice, they weren't taking preorders this morning.

I thought I wanted this but I'm finding it hard to pull the trigger again because of the thought of a better color coming out soon after. It'd be nice if it was solid crimson... or maybe a solid matte black.
 
Just saw this on IGN and at first glance I didn't like it - I thought the red finish looked to much like a nail polish color..

but now I just can't stop looking at it, it looks soo good

dont know if its worth jumping from ds to ds lite for this tho..
 
Hmm.. I just realized something.

I DO want Brain Age 2 regardless. I really enjoyed the first one (and being told I'm a retard from that asshole!). I have $14 and some change in credit in my Amazon account. I have another $80 that will be here between the 15th-20th from a freebie site. So I'll have $94ish in credit.

Should I bite on this for $55 out of pocket? Hmmm...
 
I wonder if we can get this DS w/o the game/bundle.
I dont want BA2 but wouldnt mind having that new color DSlight.
 
IDK why they just made it a half black half red DS. The all black hinge is what really bothers me. They should've made the left and right portions of the hinge (where the breaks are) red, and left the longer center part of the hinge, where the mic is, black.
 
I'm picking one up on day one as well, I'll then have three DSes (two lites) and one original DS.

I can't see Nintendo releasing another color scheme for at least another year (or maybe by the end of the year for the holiday season) and to me, the only other color scheme that could top this is if the top was green and the bottom black. :drool:
 
Tempted to get this too. Been wanting to upgrade from my DS Phat but waiting on new colors. After seeing DS games in upped brightness on my brother's Lite, I vowed never to play DS games on a Phat again.

Wish Nintendo would hurry and announce new colors here so we can see what other options we have.

I agree. But then they wouldn't make all that extra profit on people buying multiple DSs just to get a color. Also, they'd lose potential sales from the people who would rather wait for a color than just settle for this one.

As for me, I've held out long enough waiting for the right DS color but this one is good enough, although I wish it wasn't two tone...
 
I'm getting this. Been waiting too long for a good color lite, and now that I have a broken phat, what better time than the 20th? Thank goodness it comes out before

I really can't see how so many folks want this. Maybe it's a girl thing, not liking it. I stare wistfully at the pink DS Lites every time I see them, but this black and red DS -- I would never consider it.

Are any girls buying this?

I have to agree, they tried two color schemes with the SP and I wasn't a fan. I prefer one solid color.

you know, i got rid of my ds lite last year, i may have to pick this up. I still havent played the newer games like the phoenix game. but i never play video games much, my ass is older than dirt (30)
 
it's usually a matter of time and commitments (aka job and family) keeping you from playing rather than your age directly preventing you from doing it.
 
They are taking pre-orders now.

I am really tempted to get one; but I cannot go through the ordeal of returning it 4 times and sending it to Nintendo twice (DEAD pixels haunt me...). I finally have a white one that is perfect, so I just don't think I can justify this,

thus why handhelds are good you can use them during lunch or whenever you have time for yourself instead of dealing with commitments. Trust me I have plenty of stuff I do before I can do any gaming at night basically I have to schedule gaming during the week or I end up not gaming at all. I'm sure it will only get worse as me and the fiancee get married but most things you can work in at least a few minutes given good enough planning :).
