New electronics plastic wrapping

Hey guys,

I'm kind of stumped trying to find out what they call those plastic wrapper things that cover new electronics when they get shipped. They're greyish in colour and have a bit of a spongy feel to them. Examples of where I've seen them would be when unboxing my ASUS LCD monitor and my PS3.

I would be very grateful if anyone knows the name of what they call those plastic sheets.

Cheers

Apparantly, it's officially called polypropylene sheet foam.

I'm planning on moving back home to Australia in the next few months and would like to ship my electronics purchased here in the US by freight.

I stupidly threw away most of the polypropylene sheet foam that came with my stuff and am wondering whether it would be necessary to wrap them in foam before packing them away for shipment...

Nah, it won't be necessary. Just make sure they're cushioned and packaged well, and you should be okay.
