Hey, I'm no FF13 fan -- in fact, I generally disliked it -- that said, it's still the pinnacle of presentation and has absolutely the highest production values of any JRPG this generation. I haven't been particularly excited about any FF since FF8 (and that was somewhat of a letdown, too). I still buy FF games however when they hit the $20 mark, if nothing else than to witness the crazy awesome designs and graphical splendor.
Was very happy to see this on the 360. Also plan to pick up FFXIII-2 on my 360 when it hits at least the $20 marker.
You can't go wrong with picking this up if you like JRPGs. I would say that story-wise, there are better next-gen JRPGs such as ToV and Lost Odyssey (though voice acting there is awful) and if you own a PS2, you owe it to yourself to play Persona 4 (better IMHO than 3 FES and arguably better than anything we've got from the East this gen in this genre) -- all of these you can pick up for
