I just got my new issue of egm and on page 89 there was an ad for Zelda for $19. So I went to pick it up at my local ebgames but when it was scanned it was still $29.99 so I show the clerk the ad for $19 and got the game for $19+tax. I don't know if this is YMMV or statewide offer. Probaly a misprint but who cares!

I remember for awhile there were a ton of brand new sealed snes copies on ebay, but that was a few years back I think. I dont get my EGMs until later in the month usually, but I will look for this.

Yeah its for the GBA. Online its still 29.99 so I don't know if I've just got lucky and got it for $19, but don't ebgames have to honor their advertisement?

I havent seen it in the august issue. That probably means its in the September one, but isnt it a little early to be getting the september issue?

I can confirm. I received my Sept. issue of EGM last Fri. and on page 89 (as OP said) is Zelda: Link to the Past for GBA with $19.99 under it. Probably an error and they meant to put the "Classic Zelda" for GBA's picture but hey, it's worth a shot to get them to PM.
I'm assuming for gameboy... I'd love a new copy of it for SNES though.
But you just CAN'T fuckING HAVE IT. So THERE.
Sept. issue in July?
Yea, EGM has gotten way off track. The problem is they've gotten so off track now their reviews are always old, half of the games they review you could read reviews of a few weeks before in Gamepro, GI, etc etc.

My friend got Bestbuy to price match. He tore off the page and went to the counter and got a price match with no problem he even used the $5 coupon to get it for $15.

Thats what I was thinking of doing, but both of the BB i went to were sold out of the game.

Oh but I already do have it, it's just a used copy that I've had for years and years. This and Final Fantasy II are both games I wish I would've been able to find new, but better used than no game at all.
I have some of these left new and factory sealed for snes still.
Sadly they're $40, which is about $35 more than I pay for games these days, and they're player's choice... eh, but good luck finding a sealed copy that isn't. But, to anyone that is looking for a sealed copy of that game, Defender does seem to have 'em, and only 3 left, $40 is actually a good price if you can break yourself of the BB & CC prices.

I think this may be an upcoming price drop for the game. It came out well over a year ago and $19.99 is usually the next price first party Nintendo GBA games drop to (i.e. Donkey Kong Country, Advance Wars 2, Golden Sun 2, etc).

Damn...and here I am without that issue of EGM. As soon as I get it, though, Zelda will be mine... :D

I also remember Nintendo announcing plans for a GBA Player's Choice line. Any chance that LttP is part of it?

Bump...and an update to boot. What a combination! :)

Went to EB and showed them the ad. They honored it, but the people behind the counter stared at it for about a minute and asked why the game would be that cheap. I'm thinking that it probably SHOULD have been the Classic NES Zelda, like a few others have said here, but they still honor the deal. Lucky us. :D

Where did you hear about the GBA Players Choice?

Yeah, I saw the ad in the September issue of EGM with the game for $19.99, but I was confused when I saw it online for the original price of $29.99. I was thinking about bringing my EGM to the store to see if they would honor the deal, but now I'm definitely doing it since I have confirmation that it works. Thanks guys.
