Just got a new HD monitor for my xbox 360 it does 1080 p what setting should I select?

I go into my xbox's setting and I select 1080P and what else should I pick?

standard intermedite expanded? what does that even mean?

Also what color level? RGB ? Auto ? Source?

As long as it is set to 1080P than you should be fine and not have to worry about the other options. Since you said you bought an HD monitor than I am going to assume you mean computer monitor and it probably only has a VGA/DVI/HDMI input so as long as you see a picture than you don't have to mess with the color levels. If the color does not seem right than go with the built in color change controls on the monitor.

That's black levels. Intermediate and expanded give you darker blacks and brighter whites, definitely try expanded it makes a big difference.

ok I picked 1080P and I selected Expanded and it does look better what should I pick for HDMI color levels ?

I can pick

AUTO
SOURCE
RGB

then two other ones too hard to type lol and thank you all for your help!

I use source, pretty sure it just displays exactly what it is told to do from the source and doesn't try and do anything else. Either way I think it looks fine.

thanks guys! I set it to

1080P
Widescreen
Expanded
Source

All my games look alot better except for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD It has black bars on the sides??? I think its the game

SSFII HD is a 4:3 ratio game (more 'square', like your crappy old TV). Those old games were programmed to display on old CRT monitors and expanding the playing field is a lot of trouble. And in the eyes of purists, it breaks the game.

Not all games are 16:9. It's not your monitor, just the design of the game.
