Hey all,

My keyboard is getting really grimy after 5 years and numerous moves, so I'm looking for a new one. I have a pretty standard Dell quietkey keyboard that came with my Dell now. I looked at some online, like the G15, but I'm not sure I want to drop 80 bucks on a keyboard that I don't game with often.

My preferences:
- Standard Key Layout (nothing too funky)
- Not split or curved (like the Microsoft Keyboards)
- Backlit is nice but not necessary.

My number one choice right now seems to be the Saitek Eclipse, but I don't know if anyone else has any suggestions for a good one.

I have the saitek eclipse that I got for $20 a while back (dell coupon had a glitch). It's a very good keyboard, very very crisp and it looks awesome. I suggest going with the one the other user posted, the newer one.

[quote name='SOSTrooper']How about the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Keyboard? It's standard 104 keys, quiet and quick keystrokes, and it's illuminated.

Official site from Creative.

How original of them, it looks exactly like a rebadged EluminX.
Which by the way are incredible keyboards. Dont know about these knockoffs though since the EluminX are like 80 bucks. I wonder if they use cheaper parts or something in them.

I also have this one... I bought it for about $40 right before the eclipse II came out. :bomb:

Regardless, it is still a very nice keyboard, so it gets my vote.

It's 'illuminated' by EluminX.

I have that same keyboard! I would've never figured someone else would have it.

It's damn badass for a $7 keyboard (actually, I'm sure I only paid $5.50 for it). Plus, it looks like an OEM keyboard and doesn't have logos on it. It looks great with my MX610 mouse too. It's simple and it works.:)

Honestly, I don't get what the big deal is with these fancy keyboards. I've used this Saitek gaming keyboard (don't know what it's called, the keys were backlit with blue lights though) and other than looking cool, I didn't think it had any real advantages.

My only beef with it is the 4' cord. I didn't think it would be too big of an issue, but sometimes I have to place my tower far from my desk and it won't reach.
