New downloadable demos have appeared the past few days:

Hot PIXEL (A Wario Ware clone, that I found more fun than Wario Ware):

SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2:

Ape Escape: Saru Saru Big Mission:

Xyanide Resurrection:

Smash Court Tennis 3:
http://demos.pspfanboy.com/2007/06/08/smash-court-tennis-downloadable-demo/

I played all demos and liked most of them. I found the new Ape Escape to be fun, but not as fun as the main series. Xyanide was more fun than I thought. Hot PIXEL is very cool and now I want the game, to give me a Wario Ware fix on PSP.

man Hot PXL is released in europe alreday,

and u can get a downloadable pack of like 70 more minigames or something!

it looks dope!
sucks you need 3.50 for hot pixel......
Here's hoping for 3.50OE-A!

I REALLY wanna try this demo... but I'm not leaving custom firmware because I love being able to have my MP3s in-game.

Ummm...those of you waiting for 3.50/3.51 OE-A might be waiting a while... This is on Dark Alex's website:
Bye, scene.

I've decided to cease OE development, and leave PSP scene.
The reasons are various.
One of them is the time it consumes, which i'm losing from other things.
The other is related to my security. I didn't like Sony menaces to PS3 hackers.
I think it is better to leave now rather than end paying the consequences.

Umm I tried downloading other demos on that site such as DJ Max, Ape Escape...They didn't work it said corrupted date on my PSP; Hot Pixel worked though...Any ideas please?

If you did what I did, you created a folder for HOTPXL and put eboot in there, then you created folders for the other ones, not noticing that they were already in a folder. Check the UJUSxxxxx folder in your GAME directory, and make sure theres just eboot in there. If there's another folder inside, you need to change things.
Meh, screw the custom firmware. FW 3.51 FTW!!! :D
Feature-lacking firmware wins over feature-full firmware? You might have a leg to stand on if there were games requiring 3.51, but now you just sound like you're discouraging custom firmware at all costs
which makes you sound like a Sony employee

So people are actually buying this "DA is leaving the homebrew scene" stuff?

Wow... for how large the homebrew scene has gotten, it's pretty amazing to see how many people must have forgotten what happened the last time DA said he was 'leaving' the homebrew scene.

If it's anything like the last time, I'd say not to completely lose your hope for 3.51OE-A.

As for you TMK...

WHAT THE HELL, MAN?! You're the only person on this board I know that's enough of a hardcore gamer to understand and enjoy games like Legend of Heroes, Generation of Chaos & Valhalla Knights and wasn't just another casual gamer who gave up PSP RPGaming after ToE/VP:L - I expect nothing but utterly earth-shattering awesome decisions out of you!

Ok, I'm just messing with you... but seriously, why the CFW hate?

It's not all about illegalities, pirating and ISOs. I own 51 legit PSP UMDs and have found CFW to be much nicer for enhancing the experience, even within legal boundaries.

Like with PoP:Revelations. Played it at 222mHz... unbearable - switched to 333mHz, now I can witness it for the truly awesome game it is.

Def Jam and Tony Hawk U2R/P8 - the replay value has become simply insane with CFW allowing you to use your own MP3's in game.

Astonishia Story... the game and it's soundtrack are both garbage, so why not pop in some of your own music? Makes it lot less worthless - fun even... and you can underclock it to 111mHz because it can still run at full speed there.

Or when listening to music... why keep the XMB at 222mHz when you can switch to 28mHz, turn off the screen and get longer battery life than any iPod/Creative Zen player out there?

Then there's recovery mode. If you brick while updating with official firmware(which is very possible and happened to quite a few people I know), you're screwed, $80 shorter for a repair session with Sony, and will be without your PSP for about a month... if you brick with CFW, you go into recovery mode, fix it, and are back in the game.

All that without a single ISO downloaded or any emulator. CFW ain't the devil, man - for someone on this board who's enough of a PSP RPG connoisseur to gain my respect, I'm very sure you could probably find a lot of uses for it too.
I just don't believe in that stuff running on my PSP. I'm perfectly happy with my 58 PSP games and what it does. I rather not brick my PSP and I don't feel right running stuff Sony wouldn't want me to run (afterall, I'm a very loyal PS Underground Member and G.A.P. Member). ;)

Official FW is all I have used. I have a moral objection to using a system for something the manufacturer never intended. If you use it, good for you. If I wanted to, I don't think I could, with my luck I would brick my PSP. I feel the same way about my DS, I plan to never use a flash cart, as that is not the manufacturers intended use for the system.

BTW, Portable consoles FTW!!
am i the only 3rd CAG that enjoys official firmware? also who enjoys my PSP games more than consoles?
Before I got my PS3, I was playing PSP way more than my consoles. Although as of late, with several interesting PSP games coming out, PSP is what I play most.

I can't say on the official firmware, because I'm using custom... but I do really enjoy playing PSP games on my PSP more than I do SNES/PSX/GB/GBA/NES/N64 games on my PSP.

It's actually to a point in which touching my PS2/GC has become a rarity with PSP around.

I've only used official firmware, but TLR makes the other side's grass sound awfully green. I'd think about it if I hadn't already upgraded to 3.51 (for these damn demos.) Guess I'll give Sarugetchu a shot.

Hot Pixel is worth it. Wario Ware ripoff FTW!!!

Lol, gives me my Wario Ware fix on PSP. I found out that Socom FTB2 demo was different from the last, in case no one heard.

My used PSP I got came with a ton of roms, but I ended up just upgrading the firmware. I tried many of the roms when I first got my PSP (I'm seriously, I considering using them), but since I found too many issues with them (weird controls, a pain to exit out of), I just said forget it and started buying lots of games. Still don't regret it. I'll save roms for my PC.

That's because it is, even if you're only planning to use the PSP for it's legit functions.

It's come to a point where it's more of a risk to NOT downgrade than it is to downgrade.

As I said, if you brick updating official FW, your **** is over; if you brick updating custom FW, you go into recovery mode, go back to 1.50, replace a few files and try it again as many times as you like without $80 to Sony and "the wait". I don't mean to be whoring it out or anything, but CFW's just the best choice regardless of whether you want to be a PSPirate or a legit PSP gamer.

Yeah, Hot PXL is actually one of my most anticipated PSP games.

I loved WarioWare - which is odd since I usually don't like novelty games. It had a lot more depth than just being another block dropper, and was an incredible party game. My major problem with WarioWare was that it just lost appeal too quick and had too little content... unlock everything in a few hours, master it all by the end of the week... but since Hot PXL will fix that by having downloadable packs full of more mini-games, I actually think Hot PXL might be the next PSP game that takes a shot at coming near Megaman Powered Up's legendary replay value.
It's spelled with vowels now.
but the former name HOT PXL woulda sold games...people like things short and sweet don't they?
