Before you say no way, anything is possible. If any of you watched the Ted Koppel piece on Iran, the youth culture is very pro-America. What you see and hear from Ahmadicantbearsedtospellhisname and the secular leaders does not often jive with what the youth of the country have to say. This is the first time since the Revolution that people have been this outspoken and not afraid to show their faces while talking ill of the government.

It will be interesting to see over the next few months and years if anything substantial comes of this except for a few thousand less students alive.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "Pro-America" as much as "Anti- Pain in the Ass Religious Government," but yeah, it's far from implausible. In fact, before the Iraq war swung lots of moderates away from us, Noah Feldman (professor of Middle Eastern Studies at NYU or Columbia; I forget) put forth good evidence to suggest that Iran would be making the transition to democracy in the next 5 ~ 10 years.

I just zoomed through the link, so if I repeated anything, I apologize.
Genocide? Again to execute ones leader is wrong no matter which country it is.
What do you mean? It's wrong to execute ones leader because he's the leader, meaning it would be wrong to execute Hitler because he was the lawful leader of Germany or its wrong to execute anyone because murder is wrong. The first sounds crazy the second one I can respect. Also what does this article have to do with executing anyone or genocide for that matter?

One of the people with him had a younger sister who didn't even know who the president of Iran was.

I tell ya, the things that astounded me in the Kopel show was that 70% of tehir population is under 30. That's amazing. Add to that the obvious western influence and popular progressive movements and it does nothing but reaffirm my ideas that you get more out of social influence and change then with a military conflict. Especially with the Iranians, as shown in his constant focusing on how martyrdom and nationalism are such powerful forces in their culture.

Also note the chick who was publicly cybersexing in the internet cafe. A few more porn sites and we can all be friends. Just think, www.suicide.bomber.girls.com can't be too far off!
