New shipments of PSP now being sold WITHOUT Spiderman 2!

Hey all. I recently hit a few shops in my area, and found tons of PSP, but none with Spiderman 2 included! Looks like Sony has started removing them, and I confirmed with a few people who recently (past day or two) bought one with no Spiderman. So if you're on the bubble...you may want to act fast.
 
It just means that the newer PSPs are outside the first million. The new PSP I got after I returned my first one didn't have Spidey 2 in it. I figure no big deal, I've already got the DVD anyway, I'd rather have a unit that was perfect.
 
Yeah, that he 'produced' over a million, dosn't mean they SOLD over a million. I imagine the Spidey 2's are still around....

The UMD was a free gift for people who got the first million, not part of the vaule pack at all... I dunno I might go out and get one tomarrow but I don;t know if it's worth it for me to rush if I just end up getting the one without it.

I should sleep on it and see if I feel like getting out of the house tomarrow... then I have to decide WHERE to try buying it.
 
Yes, Sony is taking out a $20 item. Sorry, I posted this. This is CAG, people get anal when there shrinkwrap isn't perfect on a $10 game.
 
Hmm... I checked a few websites and they don't seem to be advertising Spiderman 2 any more... that makes the Value Pack even less of a value. Thanks for the heads up!!

Exactly. I'll likely wait for them to sell the PSP without the "Value" Pack. Or if I can find someone to trade me one.

$20??? is that how much they are going to charge per UMD movie? didn't know that...damn dvd's don't even cost that much. why would anyone prefer to buy in that format over storing an existing dvd to memory stick to watch?
 
Confirmed. We got our second shipment of PSP's in last week and none of them had the Spidey DVD. Sucks...considering they are still charging $250 for it.
 
They're still charging that price because it was always ment to be that price. the free movie was just meant to spur sales of other UMDs, 20 bucks MAYBE for the special edition DVD UMD? no, hardly 20.

Are you implying that stand alone UMD movies (not like a UMD pack in with the DVD, just the UMD disk) would be less than $20? cause, if that's what you're saying, you're dead wrong. In fact, some UMDs are costing as much as $29, the lowest cost is $20 for a new UMD video.

Ain't that about a bitch.

MSRP is $20 on most. Amazon has most of their UMD preorders @ $13.99, whens the last time you paid full MSRP for a DVD?
 
MSRP seems to be $20 on the first handful of titles (RE, Hellboy, XXX). Stores CAN sell them for less, but MSRP is $20. I'm wondering if places like Target and Walmart will even carry them.
 
Probably not for a while. no one is going to pay $20 of more for a UMD of a movie that dosent have special features and is only movie only like the Spiderman 2 UMD. The regular DVD goes for 20 and has a second disk, comentary and making of features. The prices are going to drop quickly or cease to exist entirely.

Probably not for like 5 or 6 years, but that's besides the point. UMDs will have an MSRP of $20 at min, and there's no guaranteeing that Best Buy or Circuit City will have any kind of launch day sales on UMD videos.
 
Have any of you guys even seen the Spidey 2 UMD running? It's amazing... I'm sold. I'm not going to be buying every movie obviously, but I would be happy to pay $15 for a perfect portable movie.
 
I bought a PSP at a GameRush today, and it had the Spiderman 2 UMD. It's really nice, and I'm happy that I got it included. :)
 
If anyone cares to buy my Spiderman2 UM, let me know. The UMD is a solid media format, but I prefer my DVD collection. I was fooled once with my LD collection, the UMD no thanks.
 
You know... I don't even see UMDs listed at Best Buy, Tower Records or Circuit City, so Target or WM carrying them may be even more of a stretch. They may carry them b/c of the GBA video stuff, but it would be in the VG section, not movie section. Wow... this could be a marketing debacle if stores carry the things in different places (just confuses all but the determined!). If all of these movies are coming out on the 19th, I'm curious where they are on the various websites, too. This sounds a lot like the way MD's launched and were difficult to find.
 
Yeah, confirmed. I'm sure the eBay value will drop eventually on them though and it will cost you $15 at most for the spiderman UMD.

I'm still personally waiting for the non-value pack to come out at $200. But if the XBox2 comes out this fall I rather pick that up instead.
