New starting price point for DS games?

[Lawyers Guns N Money]

Just looking over some of the upcoming releases for the DS, it appears that amazon is listing the retail at $40. Is this a sign of price creep? Or just a temporary thing? $40 is too much for a handheld game for me, and really what stops me from buying a lot of games for my PSP until they drop.

Pokemon (comes with the pokewalker, so I could see the extra MSRP)

I think Picross 3D has hundreds of downloadable puzzles; at least, that's how it's supposed to be on DSi.

I think Amazon is just being goofy.

Picross 3D is $20 at Gamestop.
Golden Sun is $35.

Couldnt find a listing for Wario.

Amazon updated the price of Picross 3D to $19.99 now. Also added boxart and pics. Guess they just wanted to add the listing ASAP before knowing the MSRP.

I hope Picross 3D can hold up to the success of the first Picross title. That game was such pure Picross heaven, and Picross 3D looks potentially dumbed down.

The only DS games I've ever seen retail at $40 are Square Enix games. They somehow feel their games are worth a $5 premium.
