New TRU clearance as of 4/14

Finally, I have reason to write again as a whole bunch of games are finally going on clearance! Of course, some of these games are only going down $.01, from a .99 to a .98 price point, but this puts them in the 'clearance' category and therefore eligible for the extra '20% off' currently offered on all clearance.... Also, the percentage taken off clearance will be going up over the next couple of weeks, and though I couldn't get an exact timetable I do know future signs will read "Save up to 80% when you take an extra 50% off". Right now they read "Save up to 70% when you take an extra 20% off", so make of that what you will. In any case, I suggest grabbing the games you want ASAP and holding onto them unopened (if you're a really hardcore CAG, anyway) until the dust settles; TRU will definitely honor their prices should clearance go lower over the next few weeks after you buy them.
Anyway, here's the list--JDAWGG76 please feel free to add it to your excellent thread. As always I include SKN numbers for easier availability/price checking, but if nobody uses this please let me know as it would simplify my life!:)

For the lazy or math challenged, remember:
19.98 - 20% = $16 ; 14.98 - 20% = $12 . By 4/14, if clearance hits 30%...well, even lower prices of course!

Gonna hit up my local TRU, see if I can find anything there.

I hope I don't stumble upon the manager. I hate his guts - he fired all the temp workers two days before Christmas. Prick.
 
For those of you looking to get Moto GP 2007, pick it up this week while it's still on clearance. I just glanced at my price change report for next week and it's actually going back up to 29.99 on 4/21. There were three other games going back up but I forgot which ones they were.
 
forgot to ask but I went to Toys r Us on Monday, and a lot of the games that are going on clearance were not on the rack with the rest of them, but the game pic was still up and none of them had slips in the pouch. Could it be possible that they moved them to a bigger store, or will they be put on the floor this week sometime repriced? And yes my TRU is really old and still uses the slip system.

My thinking is that the reason behind the clearance is that 1-they have too much stock relatively (so these don't move as fast as they'd like) and 2-that they don't want to waste the time and money of logistics in bundling them up etc, hence the clearance. My take would be that if they are out, they are out for good...I don't think picking the clearance up, put them in the truck, and ship them back to the distribution center to resort would make that much economical sense for the corporate people.

Odds are that somebody got to them before you and they hadn't gotten around to removing the display card yet.
 
Last night, there was a huge number (8+, if I remember right) of copies of Blue Dragon at the Sunset Hills, MO TRU, the one by Hwy 44 & Lindbergh.

There was at least one copy of Blazing Angels 2 there was well.
 
i just picked up blue dragon and edf both for 28 bucks and change. when i was checking out the girl gave me a 5 dollar off a 25 dollar purchase coupon that i can use any time after 4/20. you guys should check into this to see if you can combine these deals (assuming you can still find clearance games after 4/20). my tru had tons of stuff though. sorry if anybody suggested this already. i dont have time to sift through the pages.
 
One cool thing I noticed about a local store last time I was there - most of the ones around here have a clearance bin. This one just had the games still on the shelf with little clearance flags sticking out from the shelf. And everything was in alphabetical order! A first for TRUs that I've been in.

Made the game search much easier for me than roaming through a big bin.
 
I rather they have clearance bins since all the TRU I have visited never have the games in alphabetical order. For that matter a lot of the games don't have any display outside and you gotta ask the guy/gal to check behind the counter for it.

My store only has a bin for games under $10. Everything over, gets put in abc order with all the other games.

Hmm, Clearance means it stays at that price until it sells. Unless it never sells, in which case it gets taken down even further after a certain amount of time (said time varies by game).
 
Picked up Jeanne D'Arc PSP and Tomb Raider Anniversary PSP on clearance with $5 off coupon. total OTD just under $30 for both. Thanks!
 
Picked up Prey and Farcry....but the best was getting Perfect Dark Zero Collectors Edition for $5 even, this was at TRU in Salem, NH.
 
Got Earth Defense Force and Yakuza and fillers, used the $5 off coupon.

EDF is actually like a filler in itself for me. I only wanted Yakuza. Hope EDF is good enough.

I think the OP needs to be corrected.

This is not true in my area. They will nmot adjust ANY receipt for sale or clearance items. They also will not PM other TRU stores. (They subtotaled Disgea 2 at 49.99 and I asked if they would PM a friends receipt ).
 
If anyone can pick up Oblivion (PS3) or will trade it, I want it. Check my list and let me know if there's a clearence title you can't find!

When you scan a game, the scanner says "price valid until 5/10/08" or something to that effect. It might be that the 20% off last until Saturday and they are moving the % off higher as the OP stated. I can only hope. :D

I'm finally seeing these clearance prices at my local TRUs. Rarely did they have the clearance prices from the other thread. For some reason, I'm itching to pick up Jeanne D'arc for this price, eventhough, I already have the game. :whistle2:?

I guess it's because that's just a really good price for a really good game when you factor in the $5 off coupon.

There was a stack of photocopied flyer on the customer service desk about 20% off clearance stuff.

You don't have to read all the pages, just try the "search this thread" button there at the top. It replaces the generic forum search button when you're in a thread. Really useful, especially on CAG for the longer clearance threads.
 
Thanks OP. Able to stack the $5 coupon with this and got Stranglehold and Dead Rising for $4.12 after 20% and a $25 TRU gift card I got from Tom Thumb.
 
I'm not sure if this is just the store I went to, but I managed to get Blue Dragon and Stranglehold for about $11 each because there was some deal where you buy one game and get the second for $10 off if they cost over $10. I figured this would be well known, but nobody seems to be talking about it.

Can anyone here confirm. This could be pretty big if its not ymmv...looks like a may be universal.
 
I can confirm it. Just got back from TRU they had a sign indicating the sale lasts from 4/20 to 4/26. According to the sign only PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Ps2 games are eligible.

Sounds to me like it may be a glitch with the pokemon deal. I my have to check it on my lunch break tomorrow.

Wow, so if you buy two $19.98 clearance titles, you can get the first one for $15.98 and the 2nd for $5.98.

If you buy two $14.98 clearance titles, you can get the first one for $11.98 and the 2nd for $1.98.

I will have to try this out tomorrow. Sucks that it doesn't include the portables though.

Here's the deal though.

If you buy two $19.98 clearance titles, the second title gets $10 off, making it $9.98, then the 20% is taken off of that title. It's crappy, but it still saves a few bucks.

Here's how mine went down.

Godfather Wii - $19.98 - 20% off = $15.98
Blazing Angels 2 360 - $19.98 - $10 - 20% off = 7.98

Basically you lose 2 bucks, but it's still a nice savings over last week.

Oh, and it doesn't work for PSP titles. The cashier I was dealing with was going to get me the credit, but the manager who needed to approve the $10 off squashed it.

Thank you for the confirmation! Still a very good deal, though. I wonder if they'll let me price adjust the stuff I bought on Friday?
