New TRU clearance as of 4/14

Finally, I have reason to write again as a whole bunch of games are finally going on clearance! Of course, some of these games are only going down $.01, from a .99 to a .98 price point, but this puts them in the 'clearance' category and therefore eligible for the extra '20% off' currently offered on all clearance.... Also, the percentage taken off clearance will be going up over the next couple of weeks, and though I couldn't get an exact timetable I do know future signs will read "Save up to 80% when you take an extra 50% off". Right now they read "Save up to 70% when you take an extra 20% off", so make of that what you will. In any case, I suggest grabbing the games you want ASAP and holding onto them unopened (if you're a really hardcore CAG, anyway) until the dust settles; TRU will definitely honor their prices should clearance go lower over the next few weeks after you buy them.
Anyway, here's the list--JDAWGG76 please feel free to add it to your excellent thread. As always I include SKN numbers for easier availability/price checking, but if nobody uses this please let me know as it would simplify my life!:)

For the lazy or math challenged, remember:
19.98 - 20% = $16 ; 14.98 - 20% = $12 . By 4/14, if clearance hits 30%...well, even lower prices of course!

Nooo. I went back to TRU to get those two games and they were out. I settled on N3 instead.

Since I heard they were gettng hard to find, the TRU in Redwood City, CA has a bunch of Every Extend Extra and Gurumin left. EEE is a fantastic game. Haven't tried Gurumin.

Nice haul, and the clearance is storewide, nationwide. I've spent more money in TRU in the past week on games than the previous 6 months, I bet.

One TRU nearby had no mention of either deal (20% off clearance + $10 off second game), but they still registered. The woman at the register was pretty shocked. I usually only experience that at Kmart. :lol:

As of Tuesday, the Exton, Pa., TRU had quite a few Jeanne D'Arcs and the King o' Prussia store had a decent selection of cheap 360 games, plus practically an entire bin of PS2 FF XII at 9.98 before the 20% off.

Gurumin is more than worth the price. It's probably the most solid platformer/action game on the PSP IMHO other than GoW.
 
Over at Valley Stream yesterday I managed to pickup:

Stuntman Ignition 15.98
Spiderman 3 16.99 (not a clearance item but a store markdown from 29.99)
Earth Defense Force 3.98 (last copy there)
Blue Dragon 7.98 (a couple of copies left)

48.82 total inc. tax

It wasn't until after I got home I realized I could have saved an extra two bucks if the cashier rang up BD at 15.98 and taken the $10 off Spiderman 3 but I can't complain for the price I paid. There wasn't much else I wanted and they were out of Enchanted Arms.
 
Picked up Blue Dragon and All pro Football for a solid 2 dollars after clearance and $10 off, I've heard good things about APF and for 2 bucks added to Blue dragon i had to bite.

I am so PO'ed with TRU right now, I could spit fire.

I went in to get the price adjustment, and the on-duty cashier in the R-Zone, the customer service cashier, the manager on duty and some random guy who was moving the bikes around looked at me like I was speaking French when I asked about getting the price adjustment. Of all of these morons, the one that was the most vocal was, of course, the bike guy who just said, "Yeah, they have a lot of unadvertised specials in this store."

I bought 6 360 games last week. One was an extra (Live Arcade), so that one is definitely going back. I might return one of the others, but $15.98 is too good to pass up and I'm not going to give someone else the satisfaction of getting my Blazing Angels game.

I can't tell you when I'll shop there again, though. Screw being a Toys R Us kid.

Is the $10 off deal over? I was in there today and picked up PS3 Splinter Cell and PSP Jeanne D'Arc, , it came up as $34.28 total. The 20% off was working, but no extra $10. I asked the guy ringing up if there was supposed to be a discount, and he said yeah you got 20% off. Does this extra $10 ring up automatically, or did the guy fail to do something right?

I did notice the signs were down at the two locations I visited today. I thought the signs had originally said through the 26th, although I guess it's not an advertised sale, so they can probably end it at any time.

Exactly. It only applies to 360, Wii, PS2 and PS3 games. And yes, it's still in effect. I just picked up Ratatouille and The Bigs a few hours ago for ~$25 after tax.

I picked up Blue Dragon with the "$5 off over $25 purchase" coupon last week. I then purchased Blue Dragon again with Oblivion (PS3) to get the $10 off. Today, I went back to do an even exchange (Blue Dragon for Blazing Angels 2) but was shot down because BA2 was ringing up $19.99. The cashier was saying that I had to pay her $7.xx more. I told her I just wanted to get a refund and she gave me back $13.90 ($5.xx on a GC).

Was Blazing Angels 2 marked up to $19.99? I don't remember seeing in it in the Markup thread. Anyways, I will use refund to pick up BA2 and Godfather (PS3) at another TRU. I just hope that the cashier was wrong and BA2 didn't go up.

Picked up Picross DS for $11.98. They also had a sign saying that all PSP and DS accesories were 20% off until 4/26.
 
Went back to pick up a copy of Blue Dragon for a friend. Decided to grab the last Perfect Dark Zero collector edition they had since I couldn't find anything else I did want. I swore the price tag under it was $12.98 but it was ringing up $15.98. So minus $10 it was $7.98 so I can't really complain.

Also the store didn't have any of the minus $10 sign so I had to ask the girl behind the counter if they were still running it. She said it was only for clearance items but didn't mention anything about not working on the PSP or DS games.

I did a return and rebuy with BA2 today and it rang up $19.98 ($15.98 after % off). Maybe the employee saw the $19.98 before the adjust.

Hey, these days I need more money to put gas in my car like 90% of the other people on this forum.

I imagine the TRU guy doesn't need the extra money. He can just "borrow" one of those bikes to get to and from work, kind of like the Gamestop employees when they "borrow" a brand new game and play it at home.
 
The store displays said that any priced item in the store ending with an 8 or a 0 pricetag was 20% Off....

PGR3 Platinum was $9.90 - got it for $7.42

Also saw Bomberman Zero and a bunch of Soccer / Poker 360 titles for 9.90....

I was glad to find PGR3 - been looking to add it to my library for a while.....
 
Thanks to the Op who reported the extra $10.
Went in today with my receipt for 3 clearance 360 games, found a copy of Earth Defense Force and received a Credit of $4.xx plus EDF!

(really didn't want EDF, but the way the $10 off worked, it just made sense!...asked if Zack and Wicki had dropped yet...really wanted that for $10...)

Camera can you get you $12($13.20 w/edge) from Gamestop/EB Games. Not sure how much anyone else would give cause I have a MGS4 CE reserved at Gamestop and just added that $13.20 to it. I just gave the Robotron and Uno to 2 guys in the Gamestop that I know that didn't have em. They wouldn't take the headsets anymore, gonna try to trade em in at the other GS when I pick up GTA4.

Thanks mikeetler. Will return Picross ($11.98) and pick it up again with Rondo of Swords (assuming the TRU with Picross finally has RoS in stock). RoS for $22. :D

Does anyone know if it matters which game is scanned first, in regards to $10 off? If I buy Picross and RoS and Picross is scanned first, will I get the $10 off on RoS?

There were signs in the store I was in, which didn't have the signs up last week for the $10 off console games and really wasn't aware of the console game sale until Friday.

The 1st game will be only 20% off, The 2nd will get both 20% off & $10 off. The 3rd game will be 20% off again and the 4th includes both discount. Makesure ask the cashier ring up what you want which game you want to be ring up 1st. If they do it wrong ask them re-do it again :)

I'll get FFV (GBA) $14.98-20% off and Extended Extra (PSP) $14.98-20% - $10 off = $14.76 plus taxes. Is GOOD DEAL right ??

Not quite. It takes the $10 off and then 20% off the remainder on the second game. This is how it worked with last week's deal.

Thanks. I will try it out tommorrow. I think everyone, including me, has been buying 2 clearance games with this deal. I'm interested in seeing how this works with a game priced at MSRP. I missed out on the Atlus $5 off newsletter. If I can get Rondo of Swords for $20, that would be great price for a new release game.
