New Xbox 360 Elite Bundle Coming

great bundle; Microsoft is taking a page from the Sony playbook and bundling GOOD games with it's console. No more of this Kung-Fu Panda/Lego Indy Jones nonsense.

That wasn't nonsense it was appeal to families over Christmas :)
I'm sure it helped a few Dads get a 360 into the house. "Look Honey, it even comes with two free games for the kids."
Christmas is over so it's time to appeal to Teen/Adult demographic with their tax refund burning a hole in their pocket.

Welll in my opinion it was nonsense :D They were trying to take some attention away from the Wii, and alienated a large portion of their market by bundling unappealing games.

It will be available in Canada -- an update from the link above:

Update: I have confirmed that this bundle will be available in all regions that Xbox 360 is sold except those in Europe.

And Zelda is right ... that deal with the "kids" games was a great argument. Personally, I think the Lego games are great fun anyway ... you don't have to be young to enjoy them.

It's not a matter of being "right" or "wrong"; In my opinion, the Holiday Bundle wasn't a good bundle. In my opinion, the Halo 3/Fable 2 is a great bundle. To each his/her own, I suppose.

Microsoft has chosen to appeal to the younger kids and families with their latest branding strategy. Have you seen any of their recent commercials from the "Live Your Moment" campaign? Obviously, this means that they already have a sufficient chunk of the 18-27 demographic. For what it's worth, the average gamer is 35 years old. They need absolutely no help convincing people to buy consoles for FPS games - but that doesn't exactly convince the mother-to-two-eight-to-ten-year-old-boys that she should buy something for them to shoot people with all day and cover the screens with blood. Sure Fable 2 isn't a violent game, but the mass appeal of one of the most-fun genres (the LEGO games) and the inherent value of the biggest animated film of the year are going to intrinsically trigger a sense of safety in the parents, either feeling good about buying it for their kids or convincing the significant other that it's a family console.

Microsoft used to have great bundles for both the Xbox and Xbox 360 but that Kung Fu Panda crap was unlike them. Nice to see them putting quality games in their bundles again.

Hopefully back to the black XBOX 360 Elite. I considered upgrading my 360 to the Elite with the RE5 bundle but I didn't like the red system. I'd be more inclined to get this as I don't have Fable 2 and think I would like it more then RE5 anyway. Halo 3 just replaces the SFII code and they are about equivalent value now (Halo 3 is about the price of a downloadable game).

I'm hoping this floods the market with so many copies of fable 2 and the price goes down wouldn't mind picking it up for cheap.

I got talked into the resident evil 360 this weekend after our zombie 360 finally got the RROD (it was awhile coming.... and warranty is up). We wanted an elite for the hard drive space, but I must say I HATE the red..... a return may be warranted to get this bundle!

haha, if im getting another extra console, it'll be a wii. XD, for those mario/zelda/metriod games..... and that'll be it.

the new motion plus seems cool...
I wish they could give us a selection of games to choose from in these bundles.
*containing... anger.... towards human populace..."

Anyway nah that idea would suck for Microsoft, this way they have Microsoft published/exclusive games being thrown into the "units sold" count. Also if you picked GTA4 and Fallout 3 it only gives bragging rights to other companies but Microsoft.

It's like Sony and their "xx million copies of Motorstorm moved" except a certain percentage of them were bundled with the PS3.

Also both of those are (putting everyone's personal and ridiculous preferences and fanboyisms aside and speaking in a grand-scheme-of-things manner) fantastic games. GoW2 would be too violent (in comparison to Halo 3) and it's a perfect online multiplayer so it makes sense.

Um, bundled copies aren't counted as a part of software sales. Otherwise Wii Sports would be even higher than it is now by an ungodly amount.
